Nike has signed 18 Alabama athletes to its Blue Ribbon Elite NIL roster for the 2026-27 season.
The group features athletes from several Crimson Tide programs, including football, basketball and softball. Eight football players made the list, while several Alabama basketball players also received Nike NIL deals.
The agreement represents another major step in Nike’s relationship with Alabama. The Crimson Tide have been a Nike school since 2001, but Blue Ribbon Elite expands the partnership beyond traditional team apparel.
Nike launched the Blue Ribbon Elite program in December 2025. LSU was the first school to join, while Texas became part of the initiative in March 2026.
The program allows athletes from Nike partner schools to sign individual NIL deals with the company. It also gives them opportunities to develop their personal brands and increase their visibility.
Nike now has around 95 athletes on its Blue Ribbon Elite NIL roster. Alabama’s latest additions strengthen the company’s presence within one of college sports’ most recognizable programs.
The Alabama basketball players included in the group are among the most notable additions. Their inclusion shows how Nike is expanding its NIL strategy across college basketball and not just football.
Amongst the basketball players are Amari Allen and Ace Austin.

Alabama’s football group includes quarterback Keelon Russell and wide receiver Ryan Coleman–Williams. Russell recently made his first career start for the Crimson Tide during the Week 1 victory over East Carolina.
Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne praised Nike for continuing to invest in the school’s athletes. He also highlighted the Blue Ribbon Elite program as another opportunity for Crimson Tide athletes.
Nike executive vice president of global sports marketing Ann Miller also praised Alabama’s athletes. She described the group as representatives of the school’s competitive culture, resilience and championship mentality.
The Blue Ribbon Elite program comes as the college sports landscape continues to evolve. Nike’s growing NIL presence could become an important part of its strategy with major college programs.
