Aleksa Avramovic has officially left Dubai and signed with Bahcesehir, despite having a contract with the EuroLeague newcomers until 2028.
The move confirms Basketball Sphere’s exclusive report, which revealed that both Aleksa Avramovic and Dubai were open to a mutual separation during the summer transfer window.
Avramovic chose Bahcesehir over Besiktas
According to Basketball Sphere sources, Besiktas and Bahcesehir emerged as the two main contenders for Aleksa Avramovic’s signature after the Serbian guard became open to leaving Dubai.
In the end, Avramovic chose Bahcesehir, where he will reunite with Serbian legend Aleksandar Djordjevic. The relationship between the two played an important role in the negotiations, while Bahcesehir viewed the experienced point guard as one of the key additions to its ambitious project for the upcoming EuroCup season.

Avramovic begins new chapter after Dubai, CSKA and Partizan
Avramovic joined Dubai last summer as one of the club’s key EuroLeague transactions ahead of its debut in Europe’s premier competition. Although injuries kept him sidelined for a significant portion of the season, he proved his value when it mattered most, playing a crucial role in Dubai’s ABA League Finals victory over Partizan.
Before moving to the UAE, Avramovic spent three successful seasons with Partizan, earning a reputation as one of Europe’s toughest perimeter defenders while also becoming a fan favorite. He then joined CSKA Moscow for the 2024-25 season, where he competed without European games due to the club’s continued exclusion from international competitions. On the international stage, he has been a key member of the Serbian national team, winning silver at the 2023 FIBA World Cup and bronze at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
While Besiktas, coached by Dusan Alimpijevic, was also a serious option due to their strong relationship, Avramovic ultimately chose Bahcesehir as his next destination.
