Alex Mumbru spoke at the press conference following Germany’s 83–64 victory over Cyprus in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
Germany secured their second victory in the FIBA World Cup 2027 qualifiers, held in Qatar, by defeating Cyprus on the road. After the game, the European champions’ head coach, Alex Mumbrú, shared his thoughts on the match:
“In the first half, I’m not happy because we didn’t play well. We weren’t in rhythm, we didn’t make the effort needed for this kind of game, and we didn’t understand. In the second half, however, we were much better. We found our rhythm, played solid defense, grabbed offensive rebounds, executed the plays we wanted, and were far better than in the first half.” – said coach Mumbru.
Germany will face Croatia in their next qualifying window, first on the road and then at home.
