Due to injury, Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will miss All-Star Weekend, and Alperen Sengun will take his place on the World Team.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver named Sengun as a starter for the All-Star Game following Gilgeous-Alexander’s withdrawal.
The Thunder star was forced to pull out because of a strained abdominal muscle, which is a big loss considering we won’t get to watch last season’s NBA MVP on the All-Star stage.
Alperen Sengun is averaging 20.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 6.3 assists this season for the Houston Rockets, and he has certainly earned this opportunity with his performances.
The game between the NBA stars from the USA and the stars from the rest of the world is scheduled for February 15 at 23:00 CET.
