Valencia have officially announced the arrival of Armoni Brooks, with the American shooting guard joining the club on loan from Asvel for the 2026/27 season.
Armoni Brooks arrived at Asvel this summer after leaving Milano, where he established himself as one of the best shooters in the EuroLeague. However, after signing a long-term deal with the French club, the 28-year-old guard will now continue the upcoming season in Spain with Valencia.
The move comes during a turbulent offseason for Asvel, who have seen several major summer additions leave the project shortly after arriving. After Sylvain Francisco departed for Panathinaikos, Brooks has now become the second significant signing from Asvel’s new roster to move elsewhere.
Armoni Brooks brings EuroLeague shooting experience to Valencia
During the 2025/26 EuroLeague season with Milano, Armoni Brooks became one of the competition’s most productive perimeter shooters.
The American guard averaged 13.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game, while shooting 41.6% from three-point range. He ranked third in the EuroLeague in made three-pointers per game, averaging 2.7 successful attempts from beyond the arc.
His impressive shooting ability made him one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in European basketball, helping Milano achieve domestic success during the season.
Brooks was named MVP of the Italian Cup, earned a place in the ideal five of the competition, was named Serie A Regular Season MVP, and later received MVP honors in the Serie A Finals.
Asvel continue losing key summer additions
Brooks’ departure on loan represents another setback for Asvel, who entered the offseason with ambitions of building a stronger roster around several major additions.
The French club had already seen Sylvain Francisco leave for Panathinaikos after signing with Asvel earlier in the summer, while Brooks has now become the latest major addition to move away from the project. The situation has become one of the most notable stories in this summer’s EuroLeague transactions, as Asvel’s roster plans continue to change.
Further changes are expected, with Nick Weiler-Babb also reportedly set to leave the club despite signing with Asvel this offseason. The German guard was considered one of the key pieces of the team’s new-look roster, but his future in Villeurbanne now appears uncertain.
Asvel were also expected to add Daniel Theis after club president Tony Parker confirmed the arrival of the former NBA center. However, the deal was never officially announced, and with the recent issues surrounding the club’s project, Theis is now not expected to join French team.
Amid the uncertainty surrounding several summer additions, Patty Mills is reportedly prepared to remain with the French club and continue as part of Asvel’s plans for the upcoming season.
