Ayomide Aduramo spoke to Basketball Sphere about his basketball journey, career path, and the ambitions that continue to drive his development.
Born in Abeokuta, Nigeria on April 30, 2010, 6’8″ (203 cm) power forward Ayomide Olawale Aduramo has quickly emerged as one of the most physically gifted young international prospects in Serbian basketball.
After developing through FMP Belgrade’s renowned junior program, the athletic big man recently signed with KK Dynamic, where he has already begun logging minutes with the senior team in the KLS this 2025/26 season.
At just 15 years old, Aduramo has made his presence felt at the U19 level, averaging 11.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 1.3 blocks per game in the ABA League U19 (3 games played) while shooting an efficient 72% from two-point range. With his length, motor and defensive instincts, the Nigerian talent is using the competitive Belgrade system to take the next step in his development.
Ayomide Aduramo arrived in Belgrade at a very young age and, speaking to Basketball Sphere, emphasized how happy he was to receive the opportunity to build his career in Europe.
Reflecting on his initial feelings after signing with Dynamic, he said:
,,I didn’t really know how to react at the time, but I was happy to go play in Europe.”
Further in the interview, he spoke about his basketball beginnings in Nigeria.
,,It was people’s influence that made me start. I was young and tall, and people kept telling me to play basketball, so I did, but I didn’t really take it seriously at the time.”
What surprised or impressed you the most when you first arrived in Belgrade?
,,It was the weather. I knew it was going to be cold, but I didn’t expect it to be that cold, it was my first time experiencing something like that…”
The popular “Ayo” also spoke about adjusting to a new environment.
,,It’s been really hard, actually, because it’s entirely different from where I come from, but with the help of the people around me here, it’s been going smoothly, I’d say.”
Which aspect of your game do you enjoy the most, and why?
,,I’d say I love the scoring aspect. I can play defense as well, but I prefer offense. Still, I give my team what it needs, and my defense helps a lot, so I’m going to keep it up.”
EuroLeague Next Gen
You recently played in the EuroLeague Next Generation Tournament with U18 FMP. What are your impressions of the tournament — both as a team and individually?
,,It was a good tournament for young players like us to go up against big teams. We can’t just keep competing at the local level and be okay with that, so it was great to gain more experience and see what basketball outside the Serbian system looks like.
As a team, I’d say that since it was our first time, we didn’t really know how to approach the games, but we adjusted as the tournament went on. Next time, if we get the opportunity, we won’t be the same as we were before.
Individually, I’d say I was pretty average. I got injured during the second game, so I’m not satisfied, I want another chance to prove what I’m capable of” – Ayomide Aduramo said.
Aduramo made his Adidas Next Generation Tournament debut with FMP Belgrade in March 2026, averaging 8.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.0 block per game across four contests while posting a solid 9.8 performance index rating. The explosive 15-year-old Nigerian power forward stood out with his athleticism and defensive presence, including a strong 13-point, 11-rebound, 5-steal outing against Partizan.
Did you have any basketball idols or role models while growing up in Nigeria, or do you look up to anyone in Europe or the NBA now?
,,I’d say I really like three NBA players: Jaden McDaniels, Paul George, and Kevin Durant.”
Where do you see yourself in basketball in 4–5 years? What are your dreams?
,,Well, I don’t know what the future holds, but with hard work and the right system, I see myself playing professionally in a good league, whether that’s the NBA, the EuroLeague, the ABA League, or college. It all depends.”
What does a typical day look like for you here in Belgrade when you’re not at practice?
,,Chill… I’m not really the extroverted type, so I prefer staying at home most of the time, it’s pretty chill.”
