In the 19th round of the Turkish Super League, Bahcesehir won against Buyukcekmece, defeating their rivals 81-58.
After two surprising defeats, against Mersin in domestic league play and Slask Wroclaw in the EuroCup, Bahcesehir returned to winning ways against Buyukcekmece. A key note for the side of Marko Barac was the absence of Serbian center Balsa Koprivica from the team.
The opening quarter saw a close battle the whole way and no team managed to gain a serious advantage, but Marko Barac’s team better in this department, finishing the first part with a minimal 16-15 advantage.
The second quarter started in a similar way, but the Istanbul club managed to make a 10-0 run in the middle of that period of the game and take control, increasing the advantage by the end of the half to 41-28.
Although no offensive poetry was seen in the third quarter, Barac’s team did not allow their rival to return into the game and at the end of the period they gained an advantage, which would turn out to be unattainable (59-41).
There was some relaxation at the start of the last part, but Buyukcekmece could not get closer than a 12 point margin. After rejecting that surge, Bahcesehir took control without major problems and calmly brought the game to an end.
Malachi Flynn was the most effective in Bahcesehir as usualy with 20 points, while Caleb Homesley added 16. Keye Van Der Vuurst stood out for the defeated side with 14 points. Bahcesehir is now 13-6, while Buyukcekmece is last with just two wins from 19 games. For Barac and his team, a visit to Neptunas in Lithuania follows, in which they will fight for a direct place in the quarter-finals of the EuroCup.
