Former Miami Heat teammates Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro were involved in a physical altercation in Las Vegas, with the incident reportedly escalating after a confrontation between the two NBA players.
According to The Athletic, the altercation happened at a practice court inside the Resorts World Casino in Las Vegas, where Herro was present with his AAU team. The situation reportedly began after Adebayo approached Herro regarding comments the guard had made on social media while criticizing the center following his departure from Miami.
Adebayo approached Herro before altercation escalated
According to multiple sources who witnessed the incident and spoke anonymously to The Athletic, Adebayo walked onto the court and Herro said something to him.
The report states that Adebayo then approached Herro and punched him without hesitation.
Herro’s AAU coach reportedly confronted Adebayo, while Herro shouted at his former teammate before being escorted away from the scene by security personnel. Both players left the location on their own.
Former teammates now on different NBA teams
The incident comes shortly after a major change in both players’ careers.
Alongside Herro, the Bucks also acquired Kasparas Jakucionis, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’el Ware, the rights to Nate Ament, and four future draft picks as part of the trade.
Meanwhile, Adebayo remained with the Heat as one of the central pieces of the franchise.

Once inseparable teammates in Miami
The reported incident is especially surprising considering the close relationship Adebayo and Herro previously shared during their time together with the Heat.
In a previous interview, Herro asked Adebayo which teammate would always have his back in a fight.
Adebayo’s answer was immediate:
“I’m going to say Tyler Herro just because we got the longest relationship.”
Herro responded:
“Yeah, I’m coming.”
The two players were part of Miami’s core for seven seasons, including the team’s run to the 2020 NBA Finals, before their paths separated this offseason.
Now, after years as teammates, their relationship has become one of the most unexpected storylines of the NBA summer.
