Barcelona have issued an official statement regarding the future of head coach Xavi Pascual, addressing both his short-term and long-term role at the club.
In recent weeks, Spanish media reports suggested there was a possibility that Xavi Pascual could leave the Catalan club, but Barcelona have now put an end to those rumors.
“Barcelona wants to clarify, following the latest information that has appeared in certain media outlets, that it is exclusively considering the option of Xavi Pascual as the coach who will lead the project that is being jointly developed.” the club stated.

Earlier, Juan Carlos Navarro, the general manager of the Blaugrana, also emphasized that the club does not envision its future without the experienced coach, who led Barcelona to their last EuroLeague title.
“I don’t see the future without Xavi Pascual.” Navarro said at the time.
There were also reports about a potential replacement in case Xavi Pascual decided to leave, with Ibon Navarro, currently head coach of Unicaja, being mentioned as a possible candidate.
However, Barcelona have strongly denied those claims as well.
“The club also categorically and firmly denies that it has met with any other coach regarding the near future.” the statement added.
