Bayern managed to defeat Mitteldeutscher by 90:88 in Round 30 of the Bundesliga after a major comeback.
Following their elimination by Real Madrid in the EuroLeague Play-In, the Bavarians found themselves in a difficult position, especially since they were defeated by Hamburg Towers in the Bundesliga just a few days later.
The visitors dominated at SAP Garden during the first 20 minutes. Bayern struggled to find the right offensive rhythm, and even more so to get stops defensively, which resulted in a 19-point lead for the visiting team (50:31).
Bayern managed to slightly cut the deficit by halftime with a couple of three-pointers, and showed a different face in the second half. The crucial period was the start of the fourth quarter, when they went on a 19-3 run to complete the comeback.
From that point, the game turned into a back-and-forth battle, and the winner was decided by a buzzer-beating three-pointer from Shabazz Napier.
Napier finished with 21 points, while Vladimir Lucic added 20. On the other side, Tyren Johnson stood out with 25 points.
Bayern remains at the top of the standings with a 21-8 record (one more win and one game fewer than Ulm).
