In the opening game of the Bundesliga quarterfinals, Bayern hosted Syntainics, while Alba Berlin played on the road against Ulm.
Bayern struggled to gain a significant lead early in the game, as the visitors managed to stay close after the first quarter. However, early in the second period, the home team went on a spectacular 15-0 run to take a commanding 16-point lead, which settled at 14 points by halftime.
Midway through the third quarter, Bayern extended their advantage to 20 points. After that, they eased off slightly, allowing the visitors to cut the deficit to 13 points, but they couldn’t get any closer. Bayern controlled the rest of the game and secured a comfortable 78-60 victory.
Shabazz Napier was Bayern’s top scorer with 12 points, while Michael Devoe led Syntainics with 17.
In the other matchup, Ulm bounced back from a poor first quarter and dominated the rest of the game to defeat Alba Berlin 94-83.
With this win, Bayern takes a 1-0 lead in the series.
