Barcelona vs Valencia Preview
Barcelona have had a rather turbulent season behind them, and it is completely clear that major changes await them this summer, both in terms of the playing roster and the coaching staff. Interestingly, this season was started on the Barcelona bench by current Partizan coach Joan Penarroya, but after a poor start to the campaign he was dismissed. His place was taken by Xavi Pascual, who thus returned to the Barcelona bench after nine years. It initially seemed that he would be a long-term solution and that the Catalan club had resolved perhaps the most important question for the coming years, but that ultimately proved to be incorrect, as Pascual has officially confirmed that he will leave the Barcelona bench at the end of the season.
It cannot be said that this competitive year was particularly successful for Barcelona in terms of results either. In the EuroLeague they significantly underperformed, as for the first time since 2018 they failed to reach the playoffs, being stopped in the play-in by Monaco. In the Copa del Rey, a competition of great importance in Spanish basketball, they also failed to meet expectations, being eliminated already in the quarterfinals by Baskonia. However, they do have a chance to slightly improve the impression with their fans by potentially winning the Liga Endesa title. So far, they have looked very good in the playoffs. First, in an unusual quarterfinal series against Murcia, in which the away team won every game, they managed to advance 2-1 to the semifinals. There they faced Tenerife, but Barcelona had no real problems and, with a convincing 3-0 sweep, set up a final series against Valencia. They already did a big part of the job in the first game of the final, winning 113-112 after overtime on the road and taking home-court advantage away from their rivals. Nicolas Laprovittola and Will Clyburn delivered excellent performances, with Clyburn also being the hero of the win thanks to several big plays in the closing moments of the game. However, in the second game Barcelona were unable to come close to repeating that performance. From the very start it was clear they could not match the rhythm set by Valencia, and the game was practically decided after the first quarter, which the home team won 26-11. Although Barcelona tried several times to get back into the game and close the gap, they were never able to seriously threaten, eventually suffering a heavy 102-75 defeat. The top scorer for the losing side was Joel Parra with 15 points, while Nicolas Laprovittola added 13. Only Dario Brizuela also finished in double figures with 10 points. Barcelona’s two main offensive weapons, Will Clyburn and Kevin Punter, combined for just four points, making it clear that a reaction and a much better performance from them will be expected in Game 3.
On the other side, Valencia are without any doubt the most beautiful story in European basketball this season. Before the start of the campaign, not much was expected from them, and many predicted they would finish among the lowest-ranked teams in the EuroLeague. However, Pedro Martínez’s team defied all predictions and played a season to remember. They were particularly impressive in the EuroLeague, where they managed to reach the Final Four in spectacular fashion. In the quarterfinal series against Panathinaikos, they lost the first two games at home, but did not give up. On the contrary, they showed character and quality, managing to complete a major comeback and secure a 3-2 series win to reach the Final Four. There, however, they were stopped by Real Madrid, but that in no way diminished the impression they left throughout their European campaign.
Valencia already won one trophy at the start of the season – the Spanish Supercup, where they defeated Real Madrid in the final with an outstanding performance. Now they have the opportunity to win another trophy and put the finishing touch on a historic season for the club. It would be only their second Spanish championship title in history, and the first since 2017. On their road to the final, Valencia had no real problems. In the quarterfinals they comfortably eliminated Bilbao 2-0 in the series, while in the semifinals they were even more dominant, sweeping Joventut 3-0. In the final series, where they were given the role of favorites, they clearly complicated their situation with a loss in the opening game. Valencia had the game under control at the end of regulation, but several poor decisions, especially on the defensive end, allowed Barcelona to force overtime, where the Catalan side eventually deservedly took the win. However, in the second game of the series, Valencia showed character and a strong response, particularly on the defensive end of the floor. They significantly raised their level of aggression, managed to stop Barcelona’s key players, and once they did that, they secured a convincing 102-75 victory. Another excellent performance came from Jean Montero, who finished the game with 19 points, six assists, and five rebounds. Braxton Key was also very solid with 15 points and six rebounds, while Omari Moore added 11, and Jaime Pradilla and Sergio De Larrea each contributed 10 points. What Valencia will need if they want to regain the break is to maintain this level of defensive intensity and prevent Barcelona’s main players from getting into rhythm, as was the case in the first game of the series. There is no doubt that Valencia have enough quality to close out this series in their favor and lift the championship trophy.

Barcelona vs Valencia Best Betting Tip and Prediction
There is no doubt that Valencia have shown significantly more throughout the season than Barcelona. It is completely clear that the visiting team has a deeper repertoire and more to offer compared to Barcelona. In Game 2, they completely outplayed and overwhelmed Barcelona, so there is no question that they will now want to deliver another performance at least close to that level and regain home-court advantage. Therefore, they are expected to stay in the game until the very end, and even in case of a loss, it is likely to be by no more than three points.
