    Venezia vs Milano Preview

Reaching the Serie A playoff finals already represents a major achievement for Venezia, but the club’s supporters were hoping their team could produce an even greater feat. However, after the first two games of the championship series, it appears unlikely that the season will end in fairy-tale fashion for the team from northeastern Italy. Venezia delivered two disappointing performances on the road against Milano, suffering comfortable and convincing defeats by scores of 100-80 and 92-79. Across those two contests, Venezia only held the lead in the opening moments before finding themselves effectively out of contention by halftime.

Unlike their semifinal series against Virtus, Venezia appeared unable to match Milano’s aggressiveness from the opening tip, while the difference in overall quality between the two teams may also have become evident. It should not be overlooked that Milano reached the finals after playing only seven playoff games, whereas Venezia needed nine physically demanding encounters against Tortona and Virtus. Nevertheless, many expected Neven Spahija’s team to put up a stronger fight in the opening two games. Venezia’s defensive performance was particularly alarming. They conceded 100 points in Game 1 and allowed as many as 62 points in the first half of Game 2. Had Milano not eased off in the second half, the margin of defeat could have been even greater than it was two days earlier. Interestingly, Venezia’s excellent three-point shooting (47%) did little to help, largely because Milano forced them into taking significantly more two-point attempts than shots from beyond the arc. On the other end of the floor, Venezia had no answer for Milano’s shooting display, as the Italian powerhouse converted 11-of-18 and 13-of-25 attempts from three-point range in the opening two games. Venezia also recorded 12 fewer assists than their opponents, a statistic that accurately reflects the struggles of their offense in Game 2. Individually, R.J. Cole continued his impressive postseason run, following his heroic performances against Tortona and Virtus with 16 points in each of the first two finals games. Kyle Wiltjer led Venezia in scoring in Game 2 with 10 points, while Ky Bowman and Amedeo Tessitori, two of the club’s key contributors earlier in the playoffs, delivered more modest performances.

Milano are now just one step away from reclaiming the Serie A trophy. Peppe Poeta’s team looked outstanding in the first two games, securing their third and fourth victories of the season against the same opponent. Milano have now won eight of their nine playoff games this year, further reinforcing the belief held by many before the postseason that the club from Italy’s fashion capital is the strongest team in the country. Only 40 more minutes of quality basketball separate them from another championship, and there is little doubt they will attempt to finish the job at the first available opportunity.

Before the finals began, Milano ranked as the worst three-point shooting team in the Serie A playoffs despite cruising through the opening two rounds. It was clear that continued struggles from beyond the arc could significantly complicate their path to the title, leading many observers to suggest that their championship hopes would largely depend on their outside shooting efficiency. The good news for head coach Peppe Poeta, who enjoyed considerable success with Brescia last season, is that his team has found its rhythm in every aspect of the game, including from long distance. Milano shot an outstanding 24-of-43 from three-point range across the first two games. When that level of perimeter shooting is combined with the team’s superior individual talent and advantages in several other areas of the game, it becomes obvious why they stand on the verge of a championship. Milano registered 27 assists in Game 2 while also controlling the rebounding battle, ensuring that the outcome was never truly in doubt. Leandro Bolmaro continued his excellent form with 16 points in Game 2. Armoni Brooks led the way with 19 points, while Zach LeDay added 18 points and five rebounds. Shavon Shields also made a major impact, contributing eight assists in another outstanding all-around performance. Many Milano supporters had expressed concerns before the finals because several players had already secured moves for next season, raising questions about their motivation. The opening two games have made it clear that there was never any reason for concern.

    Venezia vs Milano H2H

Milano currently hold a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five Serie A Finals. The first two games of the series ended in convincing victories for Milano, who prevailed by scores of 100-80 and 92-79. Earlier in the season, Milano also defeated Venezia in both of their regular-season meetings.

    Injuries and Suspensions

Venezia have no injury concerns ahead of the game, while Milano will be without Devin Booker and Nate Sestina.

Where to Watch Venezia vs Milano?

Venezia vs Milano Best Betting Tip and Prediction

Venezia have been excellent at home in this season’s playoffs, with Neven Spahija’s team winning all five of their home games in the postseason. Because of that, it is expected that Venezia, who somewhat surprisingly reached the final, will not give up easily against Milano. They possess more than enough quality and pride in their roster to put together a strong performance against a team that could enter the matchup a bit more relaxed. Throughout the entire season, Venezia have been very solid on both ends of the floor. In the previous playoff round, they eliminated Virtus, and it is clear they will do everything possible to keep their fairytale run alive. For all those reasons, we believe Venezia will not lose this game by a margin greater than the listed handicap.
