Just moments after officially parting ways with Valencia, Brancou Badio was announced as the newest addition to Panathinaikos.
The Senegalese guard becomes the latest EuroLeague transaction for the Greek club, signing a three-year contract with Zeljko Obradovic’s team as Panathinaikos continues to strengthen its roster for the upcoming season.
Brancou Badio leaves Valencia after impressive EuroLeague campaign
Brancou Badio enjoyed an excellent season with Valencia, earning a contract extension during the campaign after becoming one of the team’s most important players.
However, Valencia was unable to keep the Senegalese guard as Panathinaikos activated his release clause, leaving the Spanish club with no option but to accept his departure.
Badio was one of Valencia’s main weapons alongside Jean Montero, who later moved to Olympiacos, and played a key role during the club’s EuroLeague Playoff series against Panathinaikos.
During the previous EuroLeague season, Badio averaged 11.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game, establishing himself as one of Valencia’s most reliable perimeter players.

Panathinaikos continues major roster rebuild
Brancou Badio becomes the third official signing of Panathinaikos during the current transfer window.
The first arrival was Moustapha Fall, who left Olympiacos and surprisingly joined their biggest rivals without any prior announcement.
Panathinaikos then completed one of the biggest moves of the summer by bringing Guerschon Yabusele back from the NBA and adding another elite-level player to their roster.
Although Badio is the club’s third confirmed addition, Panathinaikos is also expected to announce the arrival of Isaac Bonga, who has already completed his medical examinations and is waiting for the official confirmation.
The club has also strengthened Zeljko Obradovic’s coaching staff, with Mike Batiste and Dimitris Diamantidis set to join as new assistant coaches.
