    Carlik Jones signs contract extension with Partizan

    Some good news have come for Partizan fans, as the club announced on their social media channels that point guard Carlik Jones is staying.

    After many speculations about his status, including several strong statements coming from club president Ostoja Mijailovic, it seems as if he saga between Partizan and Carlik Jones has finally come to an end, with the American point guard officially signing a contract extension to stay at the club.

    The financial details are unknown at the moment, as well as the length of the contract, but these news must be a great relief to both the board of the club and Partizan’s fans, as the man many consider the best player and the leader of the team has decided to stay in the EuroLeague determined to maintain his status as one of the best point guards in Europe.

    Partizan’s season was traumatic and painful in many ways, culminating in the resignation of head coach Zeljko Obradovic in November, with much of the team’s problems exploding after Jones broke a bone in his foot during an ABA League game against FMP, which caused him to miss four months of the season. The EuroLeague campaign of Partizan collapsed after that, but after Jones’ return, the team has had a winning record, with many speculating what might have been had the South Sudan national team member stayed healthy.

    Jones has averaged 15.6 points and 4.5 assists per game in 14 games played. He arrived in the summer of 2024 after a great showing in the Olympic Games and a G-League MVP award. He helped Partizan win the ABA League title last season.
