One of the biggest moves of the European basketball offseason is on the verge of becoming official, as Cedi Osman has arrived in Thessaloniki to complete his transfer from Panathinaikos to PAOK.
The Turkish international landed in the Greek city on Sunday, with his official presentation expected to take place in the coming days after the remaining formalities are completed.
PAOK secure one of the biggest signings of the summer
Osman’s arrival represents a major statement from PAOK, who continue to build one of the most ambitious projects in European basketball.
Although the 31-year-old forward was under contract with Panathinaikos until the summer of 2027, he decided to leave Athens in search of a bigger role, becoming one of the cornerstones of PAOK’s long-term plans.
According to previous reports, the Greek club offered Osman a three-year contract worth €9 million, while also paying a buyout to release him from his agreement with Panathinaikos.
Strong EuroLeague numbers with Panathinaikos
Osman heads to Thessaloniki after a productive season in the EuroLeague.
The Turkish forward appeared in 39 EuroLeague games, averaging 12.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in just under 27 minutes per game.
His experience at the highest European level is expected to make him one of PAOK’s leaders as the club prepares for its return to the EuroCup.

Andrea Trinchieri leading an ambitious new project
The arrival of Osman is another clear indication that PAOK are aiming to establish themselves among Europe’s top clubs once again.
The team is coached by former Partizan head coach Andrea Trinchieri, who has been entrusted with leading the club’s ambitious rebuild.
Osman is also set to join an increasingly impressive roster that already includes Nick Calathes, Trevor Hudgins, Kyle Alexander and Marcus Foster, with PAOK investing heavily in a squad capable of competing at the highest level.
PAOK targeting a return to the EuroLeague
By signing one of the EuroLeague’s most recognizable forwards, PAOK have underlined their long-term ambition of returning to Europe’s premier club competition.
With Trinchieri on the bench and several experienced additions already secured, the Thessaloniki club is assembling a roster expected to challenge for the EuroCup title and position itself as a serious contender for future EuroLeague qualification.
