Georgios Bartzokas is the Olympiacos head coach, and in 2026 he made them champions of Europe. He was born on 11 June 1965. He has been in Piraeus since 2020. In June 2026 the club extended him to 2029.
He never played for anyone but Maroussi. A knee injury ended his career at twenty-eight. He started coaching almost at once, in the lower divisions of Greek basketball. Panagiotis Giannakis took him on as an assistant at Maroussi in 2003.
The head coaching jobs came after that. Olympia Larissa first, then Maroussi, then Olympiacos in 2012. Lokomotiv Kuban, Barcelona and Khimki followed. He returned to Piraeus in 2020 and has not left since.
