Fresh off stellar seasons with Crvena Zvezda, Codi Miller-McIntyre has officially touched down in Athens as the newest weapon in Olympiacos’ EuroLeague title defense. Shortly after landing late at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, the 32-year-old point guard made no secret of his excitement to wear the red and white.
Codi Miller-McIntyre signed a three-year contract with the reigning EuroLeague champions.
After landing at the “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport late in the evening, he addressed the media for the first time as a member of Olympiacos.
“I’m tired because it’s late but I’m excited to be here. I’ll meet the coach and some of the staff tomorrow. I always wanted to play in Greece. I’ve been thinking about it constantly for the last 5 years. I have the opportunity to play with great players and work with the coaches”, the 32-year-old point guard said, Eurohoops reports.
“Ready to work”
One of the biggest transfers of this offseason is Jean Montero’s move from Valencia to Olympiacos, and Codi Miller-McIntyre did not hide his excitement about it. Additionally, he will be joined at the club by his Bulgarian national team teammate, Sasha Vezenkov.
“I’m excited to play with everyone. Everyone is very talented. Especially Montero, it’s a blessing to share the floor with him. Vezenkov of course, I don’t have much to say about him. But I want to work with everyone.”
Olympiacos won the EuroLeague title quite dominantly in the 2025/26 season, and with these new signings, it is clear that the Piraeus-based club aims to repeat that success.
“Players like me are ready to work. I’m going step by step, I know what they want in the team. But we have to take it game by game.”
“Excited to be part of this family”
He addressed the Olympiacos fans, who are more than thrilled about the fact that one of the most consistent point guards of recent years is putting on their club’s jersey. Also, relationship between Crvena Zvezda and Olympiacos fans made this move easier for the point guard.
“I’m excited to play for you and be part of this family. I’ve played against you several times. There’s a brotherly relationship with my former team, so I’m very happy.”
Finally, he spoke about whether he is the right fit for Olympiacos.
“I hope so, that’s why I’m here. But I’m here to help everyone, to bring energy. I want to give energy and I hope to integrate well”, Codi Miller-McIntyre added.
