Crvena Zvezda suffered a heavy defeat against CSKA in the VTB Cup semifinal, losing 89-67. Coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos refused to speak to the media after the game.
Crvena Zvezda was unable to keep up with CSKA in the semifinal game of the VTB Cup.
The team’s inconsistent form continues. After recovering confidence with wins over Monaco and Fener, and a strong performance against Olympiakos, Crvena Zvezda was overwhelmed by CSKA, losing by 22 points in Belgrade and missing the final of the traditionally Russian tournament.
TV Arena Sport reported that Sfairopoulos was frustrated with the team’s poor shooting and rebounding.
Later, Crvena Zvezda clarified: “Coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos did not refuse to give a statement after the game; upon leaving the court, there was no camera or setup ready for a statement,” Sportal reports.
