Fenerbahce started the game better, taking advantage of a somewhat stiff opening from Crvena Zvezda to secure a 20–17 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Turkish side continued in the same rhythm during the second period, and behind the strong play of Bonzie Colson and Wade Baldwin IV they extended their advantage to +9 by halftime.
However, Crvena Zvezda responded with a phenomenal third quarter, producing a series of impressive offensive possessions. Led by Codi Miller-McIntyre, the home team completed a huge comeback and even managed to take a five-point lead.
Then Jared Butler stepped up in the closing stretch. With two brilliant assists followed by a strong finish at the rim after a sequence of great dribble moves, Butler helped push his team to a big victory.
Miller-McIntyre nearly recorded a triple-double, finishing with 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 12 assists. Chima Moneke was the game’s leading scorer with 21 points and 4 rebounds, while Butler added 12 points and 6 assists.
With this win, Crvena Zvezda snapped Fenerbahce’s 19-game winning streak across all competitions, while also recording their sixth win in the last seven meetings against the Turkish powerhouse.
