Crvena Zvezda has finished its ABA League season, and with only two more games remaining at the Serbian League Final Four, the club must already start thinking seriously about next year.
For the second consecutive season, Crvena Zvezda will not play in the regional competition final, and this time the feeling of failure is even greater due to the heavy defeat against Partizan in the semifinal series.
The front office already has to look toward next season, especially at the point guard position, which was a major issue throughout this campaign, forcing Codi Miller-McIntyre to often play as many as 35 minutes.
It is now clear that Miller-McIntyre is leaving Mali Kalemegdan, as Olympiacos has prepared an offer that cannot be refused, and the red-and-whites are searching for a replacement.
According to Israeli reports, Chris Jones is on the verge of signing, but that is not the only option, Mozzart Sport reports.
According to the same outlet, Crvena Zvezda is determined to shop in Israel and has inquired about the services of Maccabi Tel Aviv point guard Tamir Blatt. Mozzart Sport reports that after initial contact, the red-and-whites turned to other options due to the preferences of Sasa Obradovic. However, with Obradovic’s future at Mali Kalemegdan now more uncertain than ever, it remains to be seen whether contact will be renewed.
Blatt played all 38 EuroLeague games this season, averaging 7.1 points and 5.2 assists in just over 19 minutes per game.
