Germany defeated Cyprus with a score of 83-64 to secure their second victory in the qualifiers for the 2027 FIBA World Cup.
Germany got off to a strong start, building an eight-point lead, but Cyprus, led by Nikos Stylianou (16 points) and his three-point shooting, managed to fight back. The Cypriots held their own against a weakened German side—who could only rely on EuroLeague player David Kramer—until halftime, with Germany leading 42–32.
The visitors opened the second half with high energy, soon following it up with a 15–0 run that extended their lead to a then game-high +20. Alongside the fantastic Kramer, who recorded a double-double (14 points and 10 rebounds), contributions came from Till Pape (14 points) and Christian Sengfelder (12 points). Nothing major changed in the final quarter, and Germany secured the victory with a score of 83-64, living up to their role as favorites both in this game and across Group E.
Germany will face Croatia in their next qualifying window, first on the road and then at home, while the Cyprus national team will take on Israel.
