Zenit head coach Dejan Radonjic spoke to the media ahead of the decisive Game 7 of the VTB League semifinal series against UNICS.
Zenit were in a very favorable position, holding a 3-1 lead in the series, and it seemed that they were very close to reaching the finals. However, they then lost the next two games and seriously complicated the situation for themselves.
A particularly painful loss for Zenit Saint Petersburg came in Game 6. They had home-court advantage and were even leading with less than a minute to go, but then Marcus Bingham Jr. strung together five points, and thanks to his momentum, UNICS Kazan went on to secure the victory.
“It is a Game 7. We need to go Kazan and to be ready to do everything what we need to win this game. What will be crucial? We need to do so many good things on both ends for the required result,” Dejan Radonjic said.
The decisive Game 7, in which UNICS will host Zenit, is scheduled for Thursday at 18:00. The winner will face CSKA Moscow in the final, after they earlier secured a 4-1 overall victory in their semifinal series against Lokomotiv Kuban.
