They also have one game fewer than them and it is necessary for them to be at the required level until the end of the regular season in order to keep the first place.

A positive thing for the Detroit Pistons ahead of this game is the fact that they enter it with two consecutive wins. First they defeated the Brooklyn Nets on the road by 38 points, and then in the introduction to this duel they were better than the Philadelphia 76ers on their home court. They were also convincing in that game, winning with a score of 131-109. Before the start of the game they were absolute favorites, primarily because of the poor health situation in the visiting team, and this was an ideal opportunity for them to return to the winning track. They used it already in the first quarter, where on the wings of a great offense they gained a nine point lead. In the last game before this duel they were defeated on their home court by the Dallas Mavericks, who beat them with a routine 112-120 victory. The fact that they were underdogs on their home court says enough about the current form of the Memphis Grizzlies.
