Dusan Alimpijevic has done a tremendous job as Besiktas head coach, and was rewarded for reaching an impressive coaching milestone.
Dusan Alimpijevic has changed the course of Besiktas‘s trajectory since joining the club in 2023, and has raised the club to the point that they are a serious contender to win the EuroCup title, along with the Turkish Super League. Alimpijevic has showcased his quality before as he was given the role of Crvena Zvezda head coach back in 2017, along with leading Bursaspor to the EuroCup finals in 2022, but since joining Besiktas, his career has gone up another level, as he also parlayed that success into the job of being Serbia’s national team coach.
Recently, Besiktas defeated Bourg 103-99 in the EuroCup, making it the 100th win for Alimpijevic as Besiktas coach, and just before the game against Buducnost, a ceremony was organized, and the head of the basketball operations at Besiktas Ozkan Arseven presented a trophy and a plaque to the Serbian coach, in front of a loud crowd who showed their appreciation for Alimpijevic’s accomplishments.
Besiktas rode the wave of momentum in their game against Buducnost that they won comfortably with a scoreline of 96-74, improving their record to 11-4 in the competition. The team will be taking on Mersin in the Turkish Super League before facing Trento in their next EuroCup contest.
