Dusko Ivanovic shared his thoughts after Virtus’ 85-80 loss to Fenerbahce in Round 23 of the EuroLeague.
Virtus had their chances, and Carsen Edwards delivered an impressive performance, finishing with 35 points. However, it ultimately wasn’t enough, as he missed two critical three-pointers in the final seconds that could have tied the game. Virtus now sits at 11-12, with plenty to regret from this tight loss.
“We played a good game, and I want to congratulate my players. Of course, there were some mistakes, especially in the third quarter, when we started slowly and missed several open shots. Now our attention is already focused on the next match.
Games like this help us grow in terms of experience, even though the three-point shot made the real difference today. Basketball is like that: there are nights when everything goes into it and others when you struggle more. We’ll see what happens in the next few games. I hope to have some players back for Friday’s game, but we’ll know for sure tomorrow (Thursday).” – said Dusko Ivanovic.
Virtus was without Alen Smailagic and Luca Vildoza against Fenerbahce.
