Hapoel Tel Aviv has officially announced a contract extension with Elijah Bryant, keeping one of its biggest stars under contract until the end of the 2028/29 season.
Elijah Bryant became one of the most important players in Hapoel Tel Aviv’s historic EuroLeague debut season, helping the Israeli club reach the playoffs and secure another season in Europe’s top competition.
Following his breakout campaign, Hapoel Tel Aviv rewarded the American guard with a long-term contract extension, making it one of the latest huge EuroLeague transactions and keeping him as a key part of the club’s ambitious project through the 2028/29 season.
Elijah Bryant’s breakout EuroLeague season with Hapoel Tel Aviv
Bryant arrived at Hapoel Tel Aviv in the summer of 2025 and played a key role in the club’s historic campaign.
During the EuroLeague season, he averaged 15.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 0.7 steals per game over 38 appearances. He also shot 59.6% from two-point range and 37.2% from three-point range, finishing the season with a 19.6 PIR.
His impressive performances earned him a place in the EuroLeague All-First Team, further establishing him as one of the competition’s elite players.
In the Israeli Premier League, Bryant also contributed with 13.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game across just six regular-season appearances, before missing the playoffs due to injury.

Elijah Bryant thrives under Dimitris Itoudis
Before joining Hapoel Tel Aviv, Bryant spent several seasons with Anadolu Efes, where he won the EuroLeague title in 2022.
The American guard is also familiar with Israeli basketball, having started his professional career with Hapoel Eilat in 2018 before moving to Maccabi Tel Aviv. He later made his NBA debut with the Milwaukee Bucks, winning an NBA championship.
Under head coach Dimitris Itoudis, Bryant developed into one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in European basketball, making the contract extension a logical move for both sides.
“I’m very excited to continue wearing red, and I already can’t wait to see everyone again. I am looking forward to getting back to work and continuing the hard work. Let’s go Hapoel.”
Itoudis also praised Bryant’s impact and explained why the club wanted to keep him for the long term.
“We are very happy that Elijah (Bryant) continues with us, hoping that after the surgery he will return healthier and even better. He was in the EuroLeague All-First Team, and he set a high standard for himself and the team. He knows and says that he can improve even more, and we are so happy to have such a professional with us and that he will continue with us for several more years.”
Interestingly, Bryant’s rise came at a time when expectations around Hapoel Tel Aviv’s backcourt were focused heavily on major additions. Despite not arriving as the biggest name, Elijah Bryant emerged as the player who consistently delivered at the highest level.
After years of playing important roles in championship teams, including Anadolu Efes’ 2022 EuroLeague title run, Bryant proved he could lead rather than only complement elite rosters, becoming one of the foundations of Itoudis’ project.
