The start of EuroBasket is scheduled for the very end of August. BetLabel released the odds and a variety of special bets are already available.
EuroBasket, which is set to begin on August 27, will bring together a large number of strong national teams and great players, providing basketball fans with plenty of excitement and a series of outstanding games.
And so, from one EuroBasket to the next, some memorable games, moments, and broken records are always remembered and retold.
Thus, at the previous EuroBasket we had the chance to witness Luka Doncic’s masterpiece against France, when he scored 47 points in his national team’s victory. However, that was nowhere near enough to break the record set by Belgium’s Eddy Terrace, who scored 63 points in his team’s win over Albania back in 1957.
At the same tournament, we also witnessed other brilliant individual performances, such as Lauri Markkanen’s 43 points in Finland’s win over Croatia, or Greek national team star Giannis Antetokounmpo scoring 41 points in the game against Ukraine.
Mateusz Ponitka also made history at the previous EuroBasket, becoming only the fourth player in the history of the competition to record a triple-double, doing so in the quarterfinal win of his Poland over Slovenia.
The record for most rebounds in a single game is held by none other than the legendary Arvydas Sabonis, who grabbed an incredible 23 rebounds in a game back in 1995. The closest anyone has come to him was Latvia’s Andris Biedrins, who collected 19 rebounds in 2009.
Among active players, Rudy Gobert grabbed 17 rebounds in a single game at the previous EuroBasket, Tornike Shengelia collected 19 in 2019 – which stands as the third-best mark of all time – and there is also Giannis Antetokounmpo, who, just like Gobert, recorded 17 rebounds, though that was already quite a long time ago in 2015.
When it comes to assists, Czech national team member Tomas Satoransky dominates. He set the record with 17 assists in a game at the previous EuroBasket, and interestingly, he also held the record before that with 15 assists at EuroBasket 2015.
Behind him is Milos Teodosic with 14, achieved in 2015, while 13 assists were recorded by Teodosic as well (EuroBasket 2015), Dee Bost (EuroBasket 2022), and Janis Strelnieks (EuroBasket 2017).
