TOP STORY: Armoni Brooks joins Valencia on loan as Asvel project faces uncertainty
Valencia have completed the signing of Armoni Brooks, with the American shooting guard joining the Spanish club on loan from Asvel for the 2026/27 season. The move gives Valencia one of the EuroLeague’s most dangerous perimeter shooters after Brooks enjoyed a breakout campaign with Milano.
Brooks arrived at Asvel this summer following two seasons in Italy, where he established himself as one of the competition’s most reliable three-point threats. During the 2025/26 EuroLeague season, he averaged 13.1 points per game while shooting 41.6% from beyond the arc.
His loan move comes as Asvel continue to adjust their plans after several summer additions became uncertain. Sylvain Francisco has already left the club and signed with Panathinaikos, while Nick Weiler-Babb is also reportedly expected to depart despite joining Asvel this summer.

TRANSFERS & MOVES: Tamir Blatt completes move back to Hapoel Tel Aviv
Hapoel Tel Aviv have secured the signing of Tamir Blatt, bringing the Israeli point guard back to the club on a three-year deal until the end of the 2028/29 season. Blatt arrives after three seasons with Maccabi Tel Aviv and returns to the team where his professional journey in Israel began.
The move adds another interesting chapter to the rivalry between the two Tel Aviv clubs, with Maccabi having previously signed Yam Madar from Hapoel this offseason. Although not an official trade, both teams have now added an Israeli playmaker from their city rivals.
INSIDER DESK: Nikola Kalinic could leave Crvena Zvezda
Crvena Zvezda could face an important decision regarding Nikola Kalinic’s future, as the experienced forward’s role under new head coach Ibon Navarro is reportedly expected to be different compared to last season. According to Mozzart Sport, Kalinic and the club are currently at a crossroads, with the possibility of him leaving this summer remaining open.
Nikola Kalinic was one of the most trusted players in Sasa Obradovic’s system. However, Navarro reportedly has a different vision for the roster and does not see Kalinic as one of the main pieces of his system. The potential reduction in his role has created uncertainty, while the final decision will depend on discussions between the player and Crvena Zvezda’s sporting department.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: Dustin Sleva reflects on unexpected path to European basketball
In an exclusive interview with Basketball Sphere, Dustin Sleva looked back on the unconventional journey that brought him to European basketball and the lessons he learned along the way. Before becoming a key part of Paris, where he spent five seasons from 2018 to 2023, Sleva’s first opportunity in Europe came through a phone call that changed the direction of his career.
Speaking about the moment when Paris contacted him about a move to France, the American forward admitted that he did not have a clear plan for what would happen next and had to trust the people around him.
“I didn’t really have one. It’s something you have to learn as you go. You can’t really grasp a plan until after that first year. You have to have blind faith in your agent and trust your mentors.”
That life-changing call arrived during a summer job, while Sleva was working to earn extra money and support his basketball development.
“I was with my best friend, making extra cash to pay for my summer workouts. I was just praying they would offer me something.”
Sleva also explained how growing up in Pittsburgh shaped his mentality and the type of player he became. Leaving home allowed him to appreciate the values that built his foundation.
“My hometown raised the type of basketball player I am. It’s very blue collar, and it’s an American football town. I just have to take what I learned there and improve on it.”
