TOP STORY: Shane Larkin joins Fenerbahce in blockbuster EuroLeague transfer

One of the biggest transfers of the summer was officially completed today, as Shane Larkin made the move to Fenerbahce.

One of Anadolu Efes’ biggest legends left the club after eight years and joined their biggest rival directly, signing a two-year contract with Fenerbahce.

Last season, Larkin struggled significantly with injuries, which limited him to just 12 EuroLeague appearances. He averaged 15.2 points, 4.2 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game.

Larkin leaves Anadolu Efes as one of the greatest players in the club’s history. During his eight-year stint with the team, he won two EuroLeague titles (2021 and 2022), three Turkish Super League championships (2019, 2021, and 2023), one Turkish Cup (2022), and four Turkish Super Cups (2018, 2019, 2022, and 2024).

Individually, Larkin was also recognized among the best players in European basketball. He was the EuroLeague Top Scorer in 2020, earned a spot on the All-EuroLeague First Team in 2022, and was named to the All-EuroLeague Second Team in 2021.

If he can stay healthy, there is no doubt that Fenerbahce has secured a massive reinforcement and a true leader ahead of the upcoming season.

TRANSFERS & MOVES: Barcelona adds Robinson, Paris lands Warren, Beaubois leaves Anadolu Efes

Despite Shane Larkin’s official unveiling at Fenerbahce, there were several other interesting moves completed on the EuroLeague transfer market today.

Justin Robinson became Barcelona’s second signing of the summer, following Olivier Nkamhoua. The American guard joins the Catalan club after spending last season with Paris, where he made his EuroLeague debut and left a strong impression. Robinson appeared in 36 EuroLeague games, averaging 14.6 points and 4.5 assists per contest. He has signed a two-year contract with Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Paris also completed a major addition by officially announcing the signing of T.J. Warren on a one-year deal. The former NBA forward became one of the biggest stories of the Orlando Bubble, where he averaged 31.0 points over six games and recorded a career-high 53-point performance against the Philadelphia 76ers.

However, after that incredible run, Warren was plagued by serious injury problems that prevented him from building an even more successful NBA career. At just 32 years old, he now has the opportunity to prove himself on the EuroLeague stage and show that he can still compete at the highest level of European basketball.

Hapoel Tel Aviv made a surprising move by signing Khadeen Carrington to a three-year contract. The Israeli international arrives from Hapoel Jerusalem, where he spent the previous four seasons. Carrington left a strong impression in the EuroCup during his time with Hapoel Jerusalem, and he will now take the next step in his career by competing in the EuroLeague for the first time.

It is also worth highlighting that Zach LeDay has left Milano after two seasons with the Italian club, as he shared an emotional farewell message following his departure. Milano also parted ways with Nate Sestina, who joined the team last season after arriving from Valencia

Another major departure marked this day, as Rodrigue Beaubois and Anadolu Efes officially parted ways after eight years together. One of the biggest legends in the club’s history has left Anadolu Efes after an incredible run during which he won two EuroLeague titles, three Turkish Super League championships, one Turkish Cup, and four Turkish Super Cups. Beaubois became one of the most respected players in Anadolu Efes history, playing a key role during one of the most successful eras of the club and leaving behind a lasting legacy in Istanbul.

INSIDER DESK: Former NBA guards Lester Quinones and Jahmir Young attract EuroLeague interest

Basketball Sphere has learned that former NBA players Lester Quinones and Jahmir Young are drawing interest from two EuroLeague clubs.

Lester Quinones spent the previous season with the Osceola Magic in the NBA G League. The 25-year-old Dominican shooting guard was one of the league’s most productive scorers, averaging 22.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. He also briefly played in China for Qingdao DoubleStar, appearing in four games.

Meanwhile, 25-year-old point guard Jahmir Young is another player attracting EuroLeague interest. The American guard appeared in 14 NBA games for the Miami Heat last season, averaging 1.8 points per contest, while continuing to showcase his potential through his performances outside the NBA.

According to Basketball Sphere sources, the two guards are currently listening to offers from Europe, with two EuroLeague clubs showing concrete interest in bringing them across the Atlantic.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: Baskonia president Josean Querejeta surprised by Xevi Pujol’s Barcelona decision

Baskonia president Josean Querejeta addressed several important topics surrounding the club’s current situation in an interview with El Correo, with his comments about sporting director Xevi Pujol attracting the most attention.

Pujol is expected to leave Baskonia and join Barcelona, a situation that clearly surprised Querejeta, who admitted that he did not expect such a decision from the sporting director.

“I was surprised. I did not expect him to act this way. I thought we had hired someone who would do the job here. Then he decided that he preferred another club, and we cannot do anything other than protect our interests,” Querejeta said.

The Baskonia president did not want to go into further details about the situation, but made it clear that the two sides have different views on the matter.

“I cannot say anything more, except that he sees things one way and we see them another way.”

Asked whether that meant their positions were completely far apart, Querejeta offered a slightly different perspective and suggested that Pujol’s future destination is already clear.

“No, I think… Actually, I have complete confidence that he is already working for Barcelona.”

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Pujol’s departure, Querejeta insisted that Baskonia’s sporting structure remains stable, with Juan Pedro Cazorla currently taking charge of the sporting department.

“Everything remains the same, but at this moment the person in charge of the sporting department is Juan Pedro,” he explained.
