TOP STORY: Jonas Valanciunas signs with Zalgiris
Jonas Valanciunas has officially returned to Europe after 14 seasons in the NBA, completing one of the biggest EuroLeague transfers of recent years by signing with Zalgiris.
The Lithuanian center has returned home and will spend the next two seasons with Zalgiris, bringing one of the most accomplished NBA careers among active European players back to the EuroLeague.
Valanciunas was also linked with a return to Europe last summer, when Panathinaikos made a serious attempt to sign him. However, the Denver Nuggets viewed him as the ideal backup for Nikola Jokic and kept him in the NBA. After recently waiving the veteran center, his long-anticipated move to Zalgiris has finally become official.

TRANSFERS & MOVES: Josh Nebo joins Barcelona, Tomas Satoransky signs with Hapoel Tel Aviv
The day started with Josh Nebo being announced as Barcelona’s newest addition. Although the Moses Wright deal seemingly fell through, Barcelona managed to bring in a proven center who dominated when healthy during his time with Milano, although injuries often limited his availability.
Hapoel Tel Aviv continued its busy offseason by adding Tomas Satoransky. The Czech guard signed a one-year deal after parting ways with the Catalan powerhouse.
Next up was Dubai. Jaron Blossomgame joined the UAE club as its first signing following the appointment of new head coach Xavi Pascual. The forward signed a two-year contract.
Besiktas also continued strengthening its roster, announcing Eugene Omoruyi as its seventh addition of the offseason. The versatile big man joined Baskonia midway through last season and will now play under Dusan Alimpijevic in Turkey.
Crvena Zvezda announced its second addition of the offseason. Without much prior media speculation, David Kramer arrived from Real Madrid as an intriguing reinforcement after a difficult season in the Spanish capital.
Following its latest moves, Panathinaikos confirmed that Juancho Hernangomez will remain with the club. The Spanish forward extended his contract until the end of the 2029/30 season.

INSIDER DESK: Panathinaikos targets Facundo Campazzo
According to Greek outlet Sport24, Panathinaikos is seriously considering a move for Facundo Campazzo, with the Argentine playmaker emerging as the club’s top target to strengthen its backcourt ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Although the Greens have already completed the signings of Guerschon Yabusele, Isaac Bonga, Brancou Badio and Moustapha Fall, they are still looking to add another elite point guard capable of providing leadership, playmaking and control on the court.
Sport24 reports that Panathinaikos is prepared to make a major financial effort to bring Campazzo to Athens. However, completing the deal will be extremely difficult, as the veteran guard remains under contract with Real Madrid.
The report adds that Panathinaikos’ objective is to sign a true “floor general” – a high-level point guard.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: Juancho Hernangómez wants to “stay at Panathinaikos forever”
The bond between Juancho Hernangomez and Panathinaikos fans has grown incredibly strong. The same feelings are shared by the club’s owner, Dimitris Giannakopoulos, who previously told the Spanish forward that Panathinaikos wants him to remain for as long as he wishes.
Giannakopoulos even stated that the only thing written in Hernangomez’s contract would be that the club wants him to stay, leaving the rest for the player to decide.
Now that his contract extension has been officially confirmed, Hernangomez also shared a message for the Panathinaikos supporters:
“Hello, Panathinaikos fans. I’m taking over our social media for a moment to tell you that I’m not going anywhere. This is my home. Once green, always green. I’m here to stay forever.”
