Zalgiris have officially completed their roster for the 2026-27 season after a busy summer of changes. The Lithuanian champions are coming off a successful campaign, reaching the EuroLeague playoffs and winning both the Lithuanian League and Cup.
The club had to rebuild after losing key players, with Sylvain Francisco joining Panathinaikos and Moses Wright moving to Milano. Ignas Brazdeikis, Laurynas Birutis and Mantas Rubstavicius also left the team.
Zalgiris responded with several major additions, led by Lithuanian star Jonas Valanciunas, who returns from the NBA. The club also signed Carsen Edwards, Sterling Brown, Saben Lee, Marek Blazevic, Marius Grigonis and Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu.
Tomas Masiulis will remain as head coach after guiding the team to a domestic double and a EuroLeague playoff appearance. With a refreshed roster and more experience, Zalgiris aim to continue competing among Europe’s best teams.
TRANSFERS & MOVES: Milano part ways with Paul Eboua and sign young prospect Andrea Loro
Milano made two moves on the EuroLeague market on Tuesday, first parting ways with Paul Eboua and then signing young prospect Andrea Loro on a multi-year deal.
Eboua, who joined Milano in 2024, leaves the club without making a significant impact for the Italian side, as he spent his entire spell away on loan with Cremona, Trapani and Asvel.
Shortly after the departure was confirmed, Milano announced the signing of Andrea Loro, securing the young forward’s services for several seasons. However, the club decided that Loro will immediately continue his development on loan.
The 22-year-old will join Verona after an impressive season in Italy’s lower divisions. He started the campaign with Bergamo in Serie A2, averaging 12.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game before moving to Verona.
With Verona, Loro averaged 9.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, helping Tezenis earn promotion to Serie A. He was also highly efficient from beyond the arc, shooting 41.1% from three-point range with Bergamo and 45.6% after joining Verona
INSIDER DESK: Jasiel Rivero could join Hapoel Tel Aviv after leaving Crvena Zvezda
Jasiel Rivero could be on his way back to Israel after leaving Crvena Zvezda this summer following an unsuccessful spell in Belgrade. The Cuban forward is reportedly close to joining Hapoel Tel Aviv, according to IsraelHayom.
Rivero previously played for Maccabi Tel Aviv during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons before moving to Serbia. However, his time with Crvena Zvezda was limited, as injuries restricted him to only nine EuroLeague appearances last season.
Hapoel Tel Aviv, coached by Dimitris Itoudis, are looking for another center to complete their roster after Johnathan Motley left the club and signed with Crvena zvezda. Rivero has emerged as a potential solution for the Israeli side.
Maccabi Tel Aviv were also reportedly interested in bringing Rivero back this summer, but concerns over his physical condition complicated a possible reunion.
The Cuban big man has since confirmed that he is fully healthy, which has encouraged Hapoel Tel Aviv to push forward with negotiations and try to finalize the deal soon.

Anthony Brown spoke to Basketball Sphere about his decision to join Besiktas and the influence of head coach Dusan Alimpijevic, who played a major role in bringing the American forward to Istanbul.
Alimpijevic and Brown previously worked together at Bursaspor, and the Serbian coach was one of the key reasons behind Brown’s move to Besiktas. The 33-year-old highlighted the coach’s vision, energy and winning mentality.
“He had a very big role in me coming to Besiktas. I worked with him before, it was a short stint but I knew him and I saw his vision. One thing about him is he has very high standards and high energy,” Brown said.
The American also praised the progress Besiktas have made under Alimpijevic, pointing out that the club reached the semifinals in his first season, the finals in the second, and is now preparing for EuroLeague basketball.
Brown explained that Alimpijevic helped him become a more complete player by improving areas beyond scoring. “The best thing he did for me is push me out of my comfort zone to become a more complete player,” he said.
According to Brown, Alimpijevic’s demanding approach is exactly what helps players improve. “It’s not going to be easy, but you are going to become a better player and you are going to win. He is one of the best young coaches in Europe,” he added.
