Everything you need to know about Asvel ahead of the 2026/27 EuroLeague Fantasy season and which players could provide the most value.
For years, Asvel have been a traditional EuroLeague bottom-feeder. Over the summer, they announced big ambitions and even agreed deals with a couple of serious names in Sylvain Francisco and Armoni Brooks, only for those signings to ultimately fall through due to budget issues. After that, they managed to put together a somewhat competitive roster, but it feels like, beyond a fierce battle to avoid finishing last, they will struggle to achieve much more.
As has been the case in previous years, they will probably pick up a few wins early in the season, while in the second half, once all pressure regarding results is gone, a losing streak could follow. That is exactly where the opportunity lies for Fantasy managers to make money on Asvel players during the first part of the season. The impression is that they are priced fairly cheaply, and there could be some very good opportunities if you make the right pick at the right time.
They will be led from the bench by a French basketball legend and Asvel’s former president, Tony Parker. Given that this will be his coaching debut, it remains a big question how he will cope with a strong competition such as the EuroLeague. Asvel are certainly a team worth monitoring from a fantasy perspective during the first part of the season, while in the second half, as usual, the safest pick will probably be the opposing team’s coach.
Expected Rotation
| Position | Starter | Main backup | Rotation |
|---|---|---|---|
| PG | TyTy Washington | Tremont Waters | |
| SG | Patty Mills | Hugo Besson | Edwin Jackson |
| SF | Both Gach | Myles Cale | David Lighty |
| PF | Jae Crowder | Nate Sestina | Mathis Dossou-Yovo |
| C | Joel Bolomboy | Bodian Massa | Yves Pons |
If it were 2015 and we saw Tony Parker, Patty Mills and Jae Crowder as members of the same team, we would probably think we were looking at the roster of an NBA title contender. But it is 2026, and we will be watching them at Asvel in the EuroLeague. Parker will be in the role of head coach, while the other two are veterans who have arrived in the twilight of their careers to help an old friend.
It looks like Asvel are once again in for a tough battle at the bottom of the standings. In the backcourt, they have several players with different skill sets, with TyTy Washington and Patty Mills likely to be the main options, while Tremont Waters and Hugo Besson will provide support.
One particularly interesting signing is South Sudanese player Both Gach. He is a very versatile player who excels on both ends of the floor and fills up every statistical category. We would not be surprised to see him on a much more serious team next summer. At 8.7 credits, he looks like a very interesting option.
The power forward position looks rather thin, with the experienced Jae Crowder and David Lighty. Another interesting signing could be Mathis Dossou-Yovo, who arrives after an excellent season with French side Nanterre. This could be the perfect moment for him to take the next step in his career.
At center, the undisputed leader will be Joel Bolomboy, who is also the best fantasy option on this team.
The Fantasy Star
Joel Bolomboy – Center – 10.4 credits
After several seasons with Crvena Zvezda, Joel Bolomboy changed teams this summer to sign with Asvel, instantly becoming the safest and most reliable Fantasy asset on the entire roster. Prior to his injury setback in Belgrade, Bolomboy established himself as one of the most dominant and complete big men in the EuroLeague.
While it is reasonable to expect he may need a brief adjustment period to regain peak form, he enters the season with a massive opportunity to anchor Asvel’s frontcourt.
Facing minimal competition at the center position, Bolomboy is locked into a heavy workload of around 25 reliable minutes per game. His Fantasy appeal lies in his exceptional, low-variance production profile. He does not rely on outside shooting or heavy usage to produce; instead, he generates consistent PIR through physical rim protection, elite rebound totals, easy finishing around the paint, and drawing frequent fouls in traffic.
He is fully capable of stringing together regular 20+ PIR performances when his physical tools take over. His floor is remarkably secure – rarely dropping below double-digit Fantasy returns thanks to his steady work on the glass – while his ceiling easily reaches the mid-20s on nights when he dominates the paint.
For managers seeking high-volume frontcourt reliability without extreme price tags, Bolomboy represents Asvel’s definitive Fantasy star.
Best Value Pick
Joel Bolomboy – Center – 10.4 credits
Much like Mfiondu Kabengele, whom we highlighted in both categories, Joel Bolomboy earns a double nomination as both Asvel’s Fantasy Star and their undisputed Best Value Pick. Quite simply, he represents by far the safest fantasy option on this roster, operating at a position that traditionally generates the highest and most stable PIR numbers in the entire EuroLeague Fantasy system.
The market has possibliy mispriced Bolomboy at a modest 10.4 credits, largely discounting him due to his past injury concerns. However, if he remains fully healthy and competitive, he stands out as one of the steals of the entire season. At a 10.4-credit valuation, he is priced like an average rotational big man, yet his real-world baseline points to 25+ minutes of heavy frontcourt usage.
Because EuroLeague Fantasy uses a dynamic pricing engine that aggressively adjusts player values based on early-season performance relative to initial cost, Bolomboy is a critical tool for roster development. He gives managers high-end center production right out of the gate while serving as a massive engine for early budget appreciation. Securing a elite-tier frontcourt anchor who routinely flirts with 20+ PIR upside for just 10.4 credits is the exact high-efficiency move serious Fantasy managers look for prior to Round 1.
The Sleeper
TyTy Washington – Guard – 9.3 credits
TyTy Washington makes his EuroLeague debut after a turbulent NBA stint. Selected 29th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2022 before being traded to the Houston Rockets, Washington bounced across four different franchises in as many years, rarely receiving a genuine opportunity to showcase his talent. However, his extensive G League runs proved his mettle as a dynamic, dual-threat playmaker capable of engineering offense for both himself and his teammates.
While casual Fantasy managers might pass on a European newcomer, Washington can be seen as a prime differential pick. Transitioning to EuroLeague always involves an adjustment period, but Washington’s structural situation in Asvel gives him immense breakout upside. His main competition at point guard is Tremont Waters, an extremely undersized guard whose physical limitations may struggle under intense EuroLeague defensive pressures.
This positional dynamic opens a clear path for Washington to command heavy floor time as the primary point guard. Beyond his scoring ability, his floor vision and ability to rack up assists give him a well-rounded PIR profile.
Priced at a reasonable 9.3 credits, he represents an under-the-radar asset whose ownership will remain low initially, but whose workload and production could soar once he finds his rhythm.
The Trap
Patty Mills – Guard – 12.3 credits
Patty Mills is a certified San Antonio Spurs legend, having spent nine memorable seasons with the franchise between 2012 and 2021, where he shared the court with Asvel’s head coach, Tony Parker. Some might be tempted to draft him based on his illustrious NBA resume and international pedigree, but his current setup makes him a major landmine to avoid early in the season.
Mills spent last season with Tenerife, where his performances proved highly inconsistent. Profile-wise, he closely resembles Baskonia’s Markus Howard – a pure perimeter scorer who relies almost entirely on jump shooting while offering minimal secondary stats in rebounding, playmaking, or drawing fouls.
Players with this extreme archetype are a nightmare for Fantasy managers because any cold shooting night results in single-digit or even negative PIR returns.
At an inflated price tag of 12.3 credits, you are paying a massive premium for a volatile, score-first guard who simply lacks a safe statistical floor. Asvel already features more well-rounded fantasy targets on their roster, and that disparity becomes even more glaring when comparing Mills to other backcourt options across the EuroLeague.
