Everything you need to know about Barcelona ahead of the 2026/27 EuroLeague Fantasy season and which players could provide the most value.
After parting ways with Xavi Pascual, Aleksander Sekulic took over the hot seat at Barcelona. They have not reached the Final Four since 2023, and although they have slightly reduced their budget, the club is always expected to compete for the biggest trophies.
During the summer, they assembled a roster made up mostly of players without EuroLeague experience, alongside a couple of EuroLeague names such as Justin Robinson and Josh Nebo. Robinson is expected to form the main backcourt duo with captain Kevin Punter. Joel Parra should finally get more opportunities and will have to show whether he is capable of being a player the team can rely on.
Overall, we recommend avoiding most Barcelona players at the start of the season until the roles within the team become clearer.
Expected Rotation
| Position | Starter | Main backup | Rotation |
|---|---|---|---|
| PG | Justin Robinson | Umoja Gibson | Juan Nunez |
| SG | Kevin Punter | Dario Brizuela | Agustin Ubal |
| SF | Stanley Umude | Tosan Evbuomwan | Tyrese Martin |
| PF | Joel Parra | Olivier Nkamhoua | Justin Minaya |
| C | Josh Nebo | Olek Balcerowski | Yoan Makoundou |
Barcelona assembled a rather unusual roster over the summer, to say the least. Justin Robinson and Josh Nebo arrived at the club as the only two players with any EuroLeague experience.
Aside from them, most of the players are unknown to the wider basketball audience. Stanley Umude, Tosan Evbuomwan, Tyrese Martin and Justin Minaya have played only a limited number of NBA games and have spent most of their careers in the G League.
They are major question marks, and it remains to be seen how they will adapt to the European style of basketball. The new additions at center also look quite uncertain, with the exception of Josh Nebo.
Therefore, you should be very cautious when selecting Barcelona players, as few people can say with confidence how Aleksander Sekulic will distribute the roles at the start of the season.
The Fantasy Star
Kevin Punter – Guard – 13.6 credits
Kevin Punter enters his third season with Barcelona as team captain and is the undisputed perimeter engine and primary offensive focal point for Sekulic’s team. While his baseline value reflects the classic concerns regarding efficiency variance, Punter remains the most explosive and high-volume scoring threat on the roster.
His value in fantasy formats is heavily driven by an elite usage rate Expect him to average around 26 to 28 minutes per game, with heavy fourth-quarter leverage where he takes virtually every critical shot.
Is he capable of consistently delivering 20+ PIR outings? Absolutely.
However, his fantasy floor is heavily tied to shot creation and jumper conversion. While he isn’t a primary playmaking guard who racks up heavy assist numbers, nor a prominent rebounder, he balances this reliance on hot shooting by aggressively drawing fouls.
For all of the reasons mentioned above, he is not a fantasy option we would recommend.
Best Value Pick
Josh Nebo – Center – 12.5 credits
Josh Nebo has been regarded as one of the best centers in the EuroLeague for years, and it is fair to wonder how much better a player he would be today if injuries had not held him back. He looks set to be Barcelona’s starting center.
Nebo stands out as arguably the most important target in his price tier. At 12.5 credits, Nebo is priced below the elite tier of big men despite projecting to play starter minutes in a high-volume offensive setup.
Assuming health, a consistent 25-30 minute role translates directly to a projected 14-17 PIR average.
Because EuroLeague Fantasy dynamically adjusts player values based on early-season performance relative to starting price, Nebo offers massive budget-building potential. Fantasy managers who lock him in early gain a reliable double-double threat at a discount, positioning their team for rapid credit growth as his market value inevitably rises.
The Sleeper
Joel Parra – Forward – 7.0 credits
Joel Parra will begin his fourth season in a Barcelona jersey. During the summer, Will Clyburn and Tornike Shengelia left the club, which opened up even more opportunities for Parra. He also put together excellent performances during preseason, recording a double-double against Andorra.
While some might gloss over Parra in favor of flashier marquee names, he profiles as a textbook sleeper and a vital differential pick. The departures of frontline focal points create a massive vacuum in frontcourt minutes and usage that Parra is primed to absorb.
At a modest 7.0 credits, Parra offers an exceptional floor-to-ceiling ratio. He contributes across multiple categories, providing efficient scoring, rebounding, and high-energy defensive stats that accumulate quick PIR points without requiring heavy usage. Securing high-minute starter production at a low-tier backup price can be one of the differences between winning the your league and not winning it.
The Trap
Umoja Gibson – Guard – 10.2 credits
It is genuinely surprising to see such a high price tag for Umoja Gibson, considering that he has no EuroLeague experience whatsoever. In this team, he will most likely be Justin Robinson’s backup, and it is difficult to expect him to receive significant minutes.
When identifying players who pose a major fantasy risk in early round draft strategies, Gibson stands out as a classic trap. At 10.2 credits, he is priced like an established, mid-tier starter, yet he steps into a Barcelona backcourt where his role will be of a backup, unlike his days at Cedevita Olimpija or Spartak.
His statistical output in previous roles was driven by elite usage and substantial floor time, both of which will drop dramatically in a secondary unit. He faces direct competition for minutes, limited playmaking volume, and a reliance on efficiency without the luxury of heavy shot attempts.
Avoiding Gibson from day one is a critical move to protect both your budget and roster depth.
