Everything you need to know about Besiktas ahead of the 2026/27 EuroLeague Fantasy season and which players could provide the most value.
This season, Besiktas will be the third Turkish team in the EuroLeague, alongside Anadolu Efes and Fenerbahce. Serbian coach Dusan Alimpijevic has been at the helm for several seasons now. Last season, they suffered a tough defeat to Bourg in the EuroCup final, but the club’s management nevertheless decided to keep Alimpijevic in charge for another season.
They believe in the process with him and have continued to improve over the years. They have kept the core of last season’s team and added several very interesting players. For years, they have played physical basketball at a slow pace and in low-scoring games, and we expect the same to be the case this season.
They will try to slow the tempo down and keep their opponents’ scoring as low as possible. From a fantasy perspective, that is not particularly encouraging, as low-scoring games tend to produce relatively low PIR totals. Therefore, Besiktas games will not be the best source for fantasy picks, although there will undoubtedly be a few quality options to identify throughout the season.
For now, it is difficult to say who will be the leader of this team, but all signs point toward David DeJulius potentially taking on that role.
Expected Rotation
| Position | Starter | Main backup | Rotation |
|---|---|---|---|
| PG | David DeJulius | Scottie Wilbekin | Berk Ugurlu |
| SG | Jaylen Nowell | Devon Dotson | |
| SF | Anthony Brown | Furkan Korkmaz | |
| PF | Eugene Omoruyi | Conor Morgan | Metecan Birsen |
| C | Ante Zizic | Wenyen Gabriel | Mady Sissoko |
During the summer, Besiktas largely kept the key players from last season while adding several interesting pieces.
First and foremost, there is David DeJulius, who arrives after an excellent season with Spanish side Murcia. Last year, he averaged almost 16 points per game in the Liga Endesa.
Alongside him, the backcourt was strengthened by EuroLeague legend Scottie Wilbekin and European basketball newcomer Jaylen Nowell. The big question is what kind of role Wilbekin will have at this stage of his career and following the serious injuries he has dealt with in recent seasons. Therefore, we would advise caution when considering him for your fantasy teams.
Perhaps the biggest addition is Eugene Omoruyi, who arrived from Baskonia. He has already made a strong impression on the coaching staff during the first preseason games, and we expect Besiktas’ offense to revolve around him to a significant extent. By all indications, he is ready for a breakout season.
DaQuan Jeffries who came to the Besiktas this summer, after spending six years playing in the NBA, has not been added to the EuroLeague Fantasy yet.
At center, there is the familiar face of Ante Zizic, who is returning to the EuroLeague. Alongside him, Besiktas have added two more big men, Wenyen Gabriel and Mady Sissoko.
It looks like there will be plenty of competition at center, as all three players are of a similar level. Therefore, caution is advised when selecting Besiktas centers.
The Fantasy Star
Ante Zizic – Center – 12.0 credits
After one season in the EuroCup, the former highly touted prospect is returning to the EuroLeague. Last season, Ante Zizic played a major role in his team’s run to the EuroCup final. There is no doubt that he will initially be the first option at center, but some caution is still advised.
Zizic’s primary asset in EuroLeague Fantasy lies in his physical dominance, high shooting efficiency, and ability to fill up the stat sheet without needing high ball usage.
His expected playing time falls in the range of 22 to 26 minutes per game, which is more than enough for a classic center to yield top-tier production. While his usage rate won’t match that of primary ball-handling guards, he will serve as the top interior option for Besiktas.
Zizic is fully capable of regularly hitting a 20+ PIR, driven by very good efficiency inside the paint, rebounding and a high rate of drawn fouls at the rim that lead to frequent free throw attempts.
However, at a price of 12.0 credits, there appear to be better options available on some of the other teams.
Best Value Pick
Eugene Omoruyi – Forward – 10.5 credits
Eugene Omoruyi joined Besiktas from Baskonia over the summer, where he showed himself to be a solid player. The Canadian international averaged 10.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, providing valuable production in his first major European chapter.
His baseline pricing reflects his supporting role with Baskonia. At Besiktas, however, his functional hierarchy shifts entirely. Preseason action already confirms his status as a focal point, setting him up for a 22+ minutes per game.
Omoruyi operates as a classic stat-sheet stuffer whose Fantasy valuation doesn’t hinge purely on scoring volume. His relentless motor ensures strong PIR generation even during low-usage or sub-optimal shooting nights.
Given his projected role, an average of 14 to 17 PIR is well within reach, triggering rapid credit growth over the opening rounds. Picks like Omoruyi are essential for early-season strategy because they secure a dependable statistical floor at a discount while rapidly building team budget for higher-priced stars down the road.
The Sleeper
David DeJulius – Guard – 9.9 credits
David DeJulius arrives at Besiktas from Murcia following an outstanding season, making his return to the EuroLeague after several years away from Europe’s top tier. While many will likely overlook him in favor of household names, his situational setup points toward massive differential value right from Round 1, where Besiktas faces Valencia.
The core reason DeJulius stands out as a high-potential sleeper lies in his positional path and backcourt structure. He enters the season with minimal internal competition for primary floor-general duties, with Scottie Wilbekin serving as the main alternative. This gives DeJulius a clear track to handle substantial initiation duties and secure early-season volume.
As a returnee without any real EuroLeague pedigree, his ownership percentage will sit in low single digits, offering immediate leverage over the field.
With limited competition at point guard, DeJulius possesses a realistic path to 22+ minutes per game, making his 9.9 credit price tag an extreme bargain for a primary creator. Targeting DeJulius early elevates your strategy with a differential, locking in high-usage point guard play before the broader market catches on.
The Trap
Scottie Wilbekin – Guard – 7.5 credits
Scottie Wilbekin is the definition of a high-name-recognition trap in EuroLeague Fantasy. Casual players will look at a former elite guard priced at just 7.5 credits and see an absolute steal, but his current situation is loaded with red flags that make him a player to avoid entirely early in the season.
Having barely played over the past two seasons due to serious injuries, Wilbekin enters the campaign with massive question marks surrounding his physical condition and durability. Besiktas will most likely use him in a controlled, veteran mentoring role to support the backcourt rotation rather than leaning on him as a primary engine. His upside is further capped by his reliance on perimeter shooting, low rebounding output, and the heavy initiation burden that will fall on players like DeJulius.
Until he proves he can handle heavy minutes and reclaim his old form, his upside remains far too limited for Fantasy rosters. Selecting Wilbekin based on past pedigree is a classic mistake, as his current usage, health concerns, and restricted role offer a minimal floor with high risk.
