Everything you need to know about Real Madrid ahead of the 2026/27 EuroLeague Fantasy season and which players could provide the most value.
Real Madrid, last season’s runners-up, made major changes during the offseason. Key players from last season, Mario Hezonja and Trey Lyles, left the club, as did head coach Sergio Scariolo.
The club appointed a new coach, Spanish coach Pedro Martinez, who worked wonders with Valencia last season. Alongside him, a large number of average players arrived who still need to adapt to EuroLeague. Perhaps the biggest addition is Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, which says a lot about the quality of the new roster and its reinforcements. It looks like Real Madrid will have a considerably weaker squad than in previous seasons.
Long-time members of the team Facundo Campazzo, Gabriel Deck and Walter Tavares are gradually entering the later stages of their careers, and it is clear that they can no longer consistently play at the level they reached in some previous seasons. It remains to be seen how Martinez will put everything together, but there are plenty of question marks surrounding Real Madrid this season.
At the moment, we do not have a single player to recommend as a good fantasy option, with Theo Maledon and Andres Feliz coming closest.
Expected Rotation
| Position | Starter | Main backup | Rotation |
|---|---|---|---|
| PG | Facundo Campazzo | Theo Maledon | Andres Feliz |
| SG | Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot | Max Shulga | Sergio Llull |
| SF | Gabriel Deck | Alberto Abalde | |
| PF | Chuma Okeke | Jaime Pradilla | Mikael Jantunen |
| C | Walter Tavares | Olivier Sarr | Damian Jones |
During the summer, Real Madrid underwent a large number of changes. They look strongest at the point guard position, where they will have three quality players in the rotation: Facundo Campazzo, Theo Maledon and Andres Feliz.
Their likely leading scorer next season will be new signing Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, who joined from Baskonia. Around him, at the 2 and 3 positions, he will mostly be surrounded by specialists and role players.
At power forward, we expect a rotation of Chuma Okeke and Jaime Pradilla, both of whom are lower-quality options compared with Trey Lyles.
At center, Walter Tavares will likely remain the first option, although he gained competition over the summer in the form of Olivier Sarr and Damian Jones, both arriving from the NBA.
Overall, it is a big question how coach Martinez will distribute minutes among the new players, while the prices are quite high. Therefore, our recommendation is to avoid Real Madrid players at the beginning of the season.
The Fantasy Star
Walter Tavares – Center – 14.7 credits
Walter Tavares has dominated the paint across Europe for nearly a decade, remaining an unsolvable problem for opposing defenses despite turning 34. At 221 cm, the Cape Verdean center commands massive gravity, forcing opponents to reshape their game plans whenever he takes the floor.
While Real Madrid added Damian Jones and Olivier Sarr to bolster their center depth, Tavares remains the primary defensive anchor and primary center option. His usage is not built on high shot volume, but rather on high-efficiency rim finishes, rolling to the basket, and dominant offensive rebounding. Because his value is tied heavily to blocks, rebounds, and drawn fouls, his PIR floor remains exceptionally high even when his scoring output is low.
He is fully capable of posting 20+ PIR outings, particularly in matchups against teams that lack physical size or struggle to protect the paint. His reliance on external service means his ceiling caps out at a certain point unless he completely controls the glass or racking up massive block numbers.
At a steep 14.7 credits, his price tag demands caution, but his elite floor makes him a strong conditional target against weak interior defenses.
Best Value Pick
Theo Maledon – Guard – 9.8 credits
Theo Maledon enters his second season with Real Madrid positioned as one of the most underpriced guard options on the board. After transferring from Asvel, where he served as the undisputed focal point, his initial transition year yielded solid per-game averages of 9.3 points and 3.0 assists. With his adaptation period behind him, the market has yet to fully adjust to his expanded role.
At 9.8 credits, Maledon represents an exceptional price-to-production ratio. As Facundo Campazzo ages, Maledon is slotted to absorb a larger share of the primary ball-handling duties. Expect his playing time to climb into the 22+ minutes range, pushing his projected output.
Because EuroLeague Fantasy dynamically scales player values based on performance relative to initial price, starting with Maledon provides a critical double benefit. His high floor minimizes risk in early rounds, while his low entry price creates massive potential for rapid credit appreciation.
The Sleeper
Andres Feliz – Guard – 6.2 credits
Finding a genuine sleeper on Real Madrid is a difficult task given their deep, high-priced roster and crowded rotation. However, Andres Feliz emerges as a low-ownership differential pick that Fantasy managers should target early in the season. Listed at a bargain price of 6.2 credits, the Dominican guard carries minimal financial risk while offering clear room for tactical growth.
During his tenure with Joventut and the Dominican Republic national team, Feliz proved he possesses an explosive offensive arsenal, capable of scoring from all three levels, drawing contact, and controlling the pace off the bench. Transitioning into Real Madrid’s elite system naturally limits his overall usage, but his core role as a secondary generator provides guaranteed minutes around 15 per game.
Some players will skip Feliz due to his modest statistical totals from his initial adjustment period. Yet, his ability to generate quick points, draw fouls, and make defensive plays means he does not require high volume to record positive PIR efficiency.
If he claims an expanded share of backup minutes, his initial 6.2 credit baseline will quickly turn into major budget appreciation, making him an ideal low-cost fill for roster depth.
The Trap
Facundo Campazzo – Guard – 13.7 credits
Facundo Campazzo remains one of the most recognizable names in European basketball, making him a magnet for Fantasy players. However, selecting the Argentine veteran at a premium price tag of 13.7 credits is a high-risk trap for the upcoming season. While his real-life leadership and playmaking abilities are beyond question, his Fantasy ceiling is actively shrinking.
Having turned 35, Campazzo faces natural physical decline along with structural changes inside Real Madrid’s rotation. The front office brought in Theo Maledon and Andres Feliz, two younger guards built to absorb significant backcourt responsibilities. To preserve Campazzo for the late-season push, coaching staff will inevitably manage his minutes, reducing the high-usage role that historically fueled his dominant Fantasy numbers.
At 13.7 credits, Campazzo is priced as an elite, high-volume star who needs to deliver 18 to 22 PIR performances weekly just to justify his cost. A drop in playing time directly hurts his assist and steal production, meaning his efficiency can no longer compensate for the inflated tag.
Unless injuries clear out Real Madrid’s backcourt depth, his unfavorable price-to-usage ratio makes him a prime candidate to burn your budget early on.
