Carsen Edwards – Over 17.5 points Odds: 1.90
Virtus is looking to catch the final shot at a top-10 spot with a crucial road win against Anadolu Efes in Istanbul. To pull off a victory over the Turkish side, which comes in on a two-game win streak, they’ll need their go-to guy – Carsen Edwards – to run the floor at his usual elite level. Edwards is the engine of Virtus’ offense, handling heavy minutes and carrying the ball whenever he’s on the court, with the green light to fire whenever he sees a lane or catch. For this matchup, we’re expecting him to drop over 17 points once again.
Jimmy Clark – Over 12.5 points Odds: 1.87
Maccabi Tel Aviv picked up two big wins last week—first against Partizan, then against Crvena zvezda—and now they’ll look to build on that momentum with another home victory, this time against Bayern. The main man behind those wins was Jimmy Clark, who is currently playing the best basketball of his career. He dropped 21 points on Partizan, followed by 22 against Crvena zvezda, becoming the undisputed hero for his team, even hitting the game-winner against Partizan. He’s in outstanding form, and Israeli media are even speculating that he could soon land a new contract with significantly better terms. We expect him to show up in top form against Bayern as well, so our pick is that he’ll surpass the set points threshold.
Crvena Zvezda has been in solid form lately, but their streak of five straight wins was snapped in the last round with a loss to Maccabi Tel Aviv. If there’s one player who hasn’t been living up to expectations recently, it’s definitely Chima Moneke. He’s completely out of rhythm on both ends of the floor. For his standards, he’s been fairly passive on offense and often takes some questionable shots. He’s also been struggling from the free-throw line, and a matchup in Piraeus against Olympiacos isn’t exactly the game to get back into rhythm. Therefore, our pick is that Moneke will fail to surpass the set points threshold in this game.
Will Clyburn – Over 14.5 points Odds: 1.87
Barcelona hosts Paris in a matchup where the Catalan team is considered the heavy favorite. However, it’s worth noting that Barcelona is dealing with several injury issues. Kevin Punter and Tomas Satoransky are definitely out, while Tornike Shengelia and Dario Brizuela are questionable for this game. This means the main offensive load will fall on Will Clyburn, who is gradually getting back into rhythm after injury. We expect him to take the lead on the floor in this matchup and try to carry his team to victory, so we believe he will score over 14 points.
Valencia has experienced a slight dip in form recently, but their win over Hapoel Tel Aviv in the last round definitely gave them a confidence boost. The standout performer for Valencia lately has been Nate Reuvers. He dropped a career-high 30 points in a loss to Anadolu Efes, then followed it up with 20 points against Hapoel Tel Aviv. Over the weekend, he also played a key role against Joventut, scoring 14 points. With Asvel dealing with plenty of issues, we expect Reuvers to take advantage and score over ten points.
