Garrison Mathews has signed with Milano, officially completing his move to Europe after seven seasons in the NBA.
The 29-year-old guard joins the Italian club following his most recent stint with the Indiana Pacers and becomes another experienced perimeter addition to Milano’s roster ahead of the upcoming EuroLeague season.
Garrison Mathews had already reached an agreement with Milano earlier this summer, but bureaucratic issues delayed the completion of the move. He also spoke about the opportunity in an interview with the Williamson Herald, saying he was excited to begin the first European chapter of his career.

Garrison Mathews: I have a great desire to get to work
Garrison Mathews expressed his excitement after completing his move to Milano and emphasized his desire to contribute to the team.
“I am excited to live a new chapter in my career and I really appreciate the opportunity that Milano and its coaching staff have decided to offer me. I have a great desire to get to work and help the team as much as possible,” Mathews said.
Mathews spent the first seven seasons of his professional career in the NBA, playing for the Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers. He appeared in 329 regular-season games, averaging 6.4 points per game.
Shooting has been one of his biggest strengths throughout his NBA career. Mathews has converted 38.2% of his three-point attempts, while he shot 44.0% from beyond the arc in the 2023-24 season, ranking fourth in the NBA that year.
His move to Milano represents his first experience playing professionally outside the United States.
Milano’s moves this summer
Mathews becomes the eighth addition to Milano’s roster this summer, joining Jason Burnell, Alec Peters, Devon Hall, Darius Thompson, RJ Cole, Nicola Akele and Moses Wright.
The Italian club has also seen several departures. Nico Mannion, Quinn Ellis, Armoni Brooks, Shavon Shields, Zach LeDay, Nate Sestina and Josh Nebo have all left Milano.
The move adds to an active summer for Milano, which has been involved in several notable EuroLeague transactions while reshaping its roster ahead of the new season.
