Georgios Printezis, the legendary Greek power forward, took time for the media and spoke to Basketball Sphere about the EuroLeague Final Four.
Georgios Printezis answered questions in Greek before also taking time for international journalists. First, he touched on the future of Georgios Bartzokas, whose contract expires after this season on the bench of Olympiacos.
“I don’t know, I’m not the president. What can I say? Of course, Bartzokas is a very good coach. The team plays very good basketball, and not only this season. In previous years as well in the regular season. In the end, it looks like something is missing. I cannot give a specific answer to that,” said the legendary forward.
As he said, Olympiacos often have strong regular seasons, but in the end it all comes down to the playoffs, where something has always been missing in recent years.
We also asked what advice a proven champion could give to big men like Nikola Milutinov and Sasha Vezenkov, who have more than 250 EuroLeague games but are still without a title.
“The EuroLeague has three parts – the regular season, the playoffs and the Final Four. Those are three different tournaments. That’s why each of them has to bring something different. In my opinion, the most important thing is, I understand the stress and the pressure everyone feels, but you need to enjoy it a bit.
First of all, this is a game, you have to enjoy it. You need to improve every day to become the best player and the best team. That’s why I understand that in 40 minutes anything can happen. I don’t know, this year I would tell them I believe in all of them,” said Georgios Printezis for Basketball Sphere.
