AEK has announced the return of Giannoulis Larentzakis to its ranks.
The yellow-and-black side of Athens has a massive reason to celebrate. After leaving Olympiacos this summer as part of a major roster overhaul, the experienced 32-year-old Greek international decided to return to the environment where he achieved some of the greatest successes of his career.
Long-term vision with a three-year contract
According to the official statement from the Athenian club, Larentzakis has signed a three-year deal, keeping him in the yellow-and-black jersey until at least the summer of 2029. This signing marks the arrival of a proven leader and veteran who brings vast experience from the highest level of the EuroLeague and multiple Final Four appearances, and even winning the EuroLeague last year.

Memories of a golden era
For AEK fans, the name Giannoulis Larentzakis brings back the fondest memories. During his first stint with the club, he became a fan favorite and served as a vital component in the squad that brought three major trophies to the Athens powerhouse in just two years, across 2018 and 2019.
He helped AEK capture the FIBA Champions League title on home court in Athens in 2018, as well as the Greek Cup. The crown of that golden era arrived in 2019 with a triumphant victory in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup.
