Giuseppe Poeta, head coach of Milano, shared his thoughts ahead of the upcoming clash with Real Madrid, highlighting both the challenge of the opponent and the moment his team is going through.
Giuseppe Poeta took over the Milan bench after Ettore Messina stepped down from his role as head coach, and he now faces a demanding test against one of the hottest teams in the competition.
Aware of the difficulty of the challenge that awaits his team in Madrid, Italian coach emphasized the quality and depth of the Spanish powerhouse.
“We are aware that we are facing a very hot team, especially tough at home, where Real Madrid are showing why they deserve to be considered a top-notch contender”, he said.
Highlighting the importance of the coaching matchup, he also had words of praise for Real Madrid head coach Sergio Scariolo.
“They have talented players and depth at every position and are well coached by Scariolo, who is somebody I certainly admire”.
Milan head into the game after a home defeat against Crvena zvezda, while Real Madrid arrive full of confidence, having extended their winning streak to five games with a victory in El Clasico.
“We know it will be a tough game. We will try to play it with courage, pace and intensity”, Poeta added.
The matchup is part of a EuroLeague double-round week. After facing Real Madrid, Milan will continue their road trip with a game against Zalgiris, while Real Madrid will play both games of the double round at home, hosting Monaco after the clash with the Italian side.
The game between Real Madrid and Milano is scheduled for Tuesday at 9:45 PM.
