Greece recorded a victory in the third round of Group C at EuroBasket, defeating Georgia 94-53 in Limassol.
So far in the tournament, Greece has secured convincing wins against Italy and Cyprus, while Georgia defeated Spain but lost to Italy.
Greece got off to an excellent start in the first quarter. Although there were concerns that Tornike Shengelia might miss the game, he was on the court. On the other side, somewhat surprisingly, Goga Bitadze did not see action in the opening ten minutes. Greece controlled the scoreboard throughout the period, mainly thanks to Giannis Antetokounmpo, who scored eight points, quickly pushing his team to a double-digit lead (22-11). Giorgi Korsantia then scored to close the quarter at 22-13.
It was clear that Georgia was significantly weakened in this game. After playing just the first four minutes, Shengelia did not return to the court, and Bitadze was also absent, making it nearly impossible for Georgia to keep pace with Greece. Giannis Antetokounmpo shone with 16 points and Dinos Mitoglou added 15, and the two of them combined to outscore the entire Georgian team in the first half. After 20 minutes, the score was 46-29 in favor of Greece, making it clear that the outcome was already decided.

Georgia looked terrible in the second half, playing even worse than in the first. Riding on the back of Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Greeks dominated the second half and quickly extended their lead to 64-32. By that point, it was clear that both teams could already start thinking about the next round, as the outcome of the game had long been decided.
The third quarter ended with Greece leading 77-37. There was no drama in the final quarter, and the team, guided from the bench by Vassilis Spanoulis, ultimately secured an easy and convincing victory- their third of the tournament.
