Cedevita Olimpija convincing against Hamburg in EuroCup Round 8, Panionios’ struggles in all competitions continue.
Cedevita Olimpija’s excellent EuroCup form this season continues, as they secured a 93–73 victory over Hamburg. This marks the third consecutive win for Zvezdan Mitrovic squad, bringing their record to 6–2 in the competition. Tonight, Cedevita top scorer was DJ Stewart with 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists, followed by Umoja Gibson with 14 points. For Hamburg, Devon Daniels led the way with 19 points. The German team is still searching for their first win in this competition and remains anchored at the bottom of the standings with an 0–8 record. In fact, the last time they triumphed in a competitive match was in April this year, in the domestic league, and it was against Bayern. In total, they are at 0-15 this season looking all results in the EuroCup, Bundesliga, and German Cup.
Venezia managed to defeat Manresa on their home court with a score 97-93. Throughout the second half, Venezia maintained a small lead but struggled to extend the margin. In the end, the game came down to a single possession, where RJ Cole sealed his team’s victory with free throws with less than 10 seconds remaining. Cole finished the game with 14 points, while Kyle Wiltjer was the most efficient for Venezia with 20 points, 17 of which came in the first half. For Manresa, now with a 3–5 record, Alfonso Plummer scored 21 points.

In the EuroCup Group B match, Panionios hosted Lietkabelis, who claimed an away victory with a score of 72–79. Panionios continues to pile up losses in all competitions, holding a 1–7 record in the EuroCup and 0–7 in the Greek League, making this season seem disastrous for the team. After they beat Chemnitz in the season opener, they lost 14 in a row in all competitions. Even coaching change didn’t help as they are still winless under Ilias Zouros. Lietkabelis, for whom this is the second win in the competition, was led by James Morris with 16 points, followed by Kristian Kullamae with 14. Stedmon Lemon was Panionios’ top scorer with 20 points.
Bourg managed to secure a win in a tough and competitive game on the road against the London Lions, 68–72. Bourg continues their strong performances, now holding an 8–1 record in the EuroCup. The London Lions were strong challengers tonight, but in a game full of mistakes and lacking rhythm, they couldn’t come out on top, and therefore did not record their fourth win. For the home team, Joel Scott scored 23 points, while Darius McGhee led Bourg with 14 points.
Earlier today, Besiktas recorded a big win in the Turkish clash against Turk Telekom, 84-93.
