Hapoel Tel Aviv have added another player to their revamped roster by signing American guard Eugene German.
The 28-year-old guard joins the Israeli club after spending the previous season with Beijing Ducks, where he established himself as one of the team’s key offensive players.
German stands at 1.83 meters and brings scoring ability and international experience to a Hapoel Tel Aviv team that has been extremely active during the offseason.
German arrives after productive year with Beijing Ducks
During the 2025-26 season, German appeared in 41 games for Beijing Ducks, averaging:
- 18.3 points
- 4.8 assists
- 3.1 rebounds
After his time in China, he continued the season with Indios de Mayaguez in Puerto Rico, where he played eight games and averaged 17.4 points, 4.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds.
His ability to create shots and contribute offensively was one of the main reasons Hapoel decided to bring him to Tel Aviv.

From college basketball to international career
German played college basketball for the Northern Illinois Huskies from 2016 until 2020.
After taking a year away from basketball, he began his professional career in 2021 with Greek club Ionikos Nikaias.
Following that, he moved to Turkey to play for Merkezefendi before continuing his career in China.
German later joined Qingdao DoubleStar and Fujian Xunxing, before returning to Merkezefendi for the final part of the 2023-24 season.
After another strong spell in Turkey, he moved back to China and signed with Beijing Ducks, where he enjoyed one of the best statistical seasons of his career.
