Four-star small forward Howard Williams has committed to Arizona State, he told Rivals.
The 6-foot-6 senior from Dynamic Prep in Texas is one of the top prospects in the 2027 class. Williams is ranked No. 45 nationally and No. 10 among small forwards in the Rivals Industry Ranking.
Williams chose Arizona State over TCU. He also received offers from Kentucky, Washington, Oklahoma State, SMU and several other programs.
Williams explained his decision to join Arizona State and discussed his relationship with the Sun Devils’ coaching staff.
“I decided to commit to ASU because they treated me like a priority from the beginning. They showed me how I will fit into the program. I believe in the vision that they have set for me, and I feel like ASU is the place I can develop and reach my goal to be in the NBA. My relationship with the coaching staff is very strong. They have been consistent since the beginning and always kept it real with me. I trust them with my development and future.”
Williams also described the type of player Arizona State is getting with his commitment. The talented wing believes his versatility can make him valuable on both ends of the floor.
“I’d describe myself as a versatile wing. I can score on all three levels, make plays for my teammates, defend multiple positions, and can play without the ball.”
The future Sun Devil also had a message for Arizona State fans. Williams made it clear that he wants to make an immediate impact in Tempe.
“Sun Devil fans, get ready. I’m coming to ASU to work and win games. I’m going to bring energy and effort every single time I step onto the court. We are going to build something special. Forks up.”
