Jan Vesely believes Partizan are currently at their lowest point of the season, but insists the team still has the opportunity to respond despite a difficult EuroLeague campaign.
Speaking ahead of Barcelona’s upcoming game, Jan Vesely reflected on Partizan’s turbulent period, admitting that the recent changes within the club were unexpected. He underlined that, regardless of circumstances, the season must continue.
Claim Now Ahead of the matchup against his former club, Jan Vesely addressed the situation at Partizan over the past two months, admitting he was surprised by the sudden departure of Zeljko Obradovic:
“It was very difficult for me. He also used to threaten to leave when we were together at Fenerbahce, but that was more of a tactical move. I hoped it was the same case this time. I don’t know all the details or what the real issue was, but I believe everything simply became too much for him. It’s a strange feeling. I still can’t believe how everything turned around so suddenly”.
Vesely also expressed doubts about the team’s construction, suggesting that the roster never fully matched the playing style required to function effectively as a unit.
“It has to be clear that the season hasn’t stopped. Life hasn’t stopped. The players are still there. Some people might disagree, but the team has to play until the end. All of this really affected me. From the start, I found it strange how the team was put together. I never believed that all of those players were right for the team, or for the way it functions”.
