Maccabi Tel Aviv forward Jaylen Hoard has been ruled unavailable for selection in his team’s game in the EuroLeague against Milano.
Many of the Maccabi Tel Aviv foreigners were positioned all over Europe due to the political chaos in the region which put the Israeli league on hold and forced Israeli teams to relocate for their obligations in the major European competitions.
With a four-game winning streak in the EuroLeague, two weeks and a day after their last game in Monaco, Maccabi Tel Aviv will host Olimpia Milano in a direct battle for a play-in spot. The Italians have a 15-15 record and are the 12th seed compared to Maccabi Tel Aviv’s 14-15 mark, as the side of Oded Kattash is looking to keep their momentum and possibly sneak into the play-in.
However, the situation was made more difficult due to the fact that one of the team’s best offensive weapons, Jaylen Hoard, is not ready to play the game and has been ruled out of the contest.
The forward joined training on Thursday and was simply not able to get into match fitness, as he arrived from France only yesterday and was not included in Oded Katash’s squad, which is still missing the injured Iffe Lundberg.
Hoard is averaging 12.1 points and 6.7 rebounds this year, shooting 57.7% from the field and nearly 85% from the free throw line, but Kattash and his team will have to find a way to win this crucial game for their season without him.
