Olympiacos have officially completed one of the biggest backcourt moves of the offseason, unveiling Jean Montero as their newest signing after the Dominican guard’s historic EuroLeague debut season with Valencia.
The move had been heavily rumored for quite some time, even before the end of the previous season, but it has now been officially confirmed that the 23-year-old Dominican Republic national team guard will wear the Olympiacos jersey next three seasons.
Jean Montero arrives after historic Valencia campaign
Montero is coming off by far the best season of his career with Valencia, where he made a major impact in his EuroLeague debut. He appeared in 38 games, averaging 14.4 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per contest. During his first EuroLeague campaign, Montero helped lead Valencia to the Final Four, while the Spanish side also captured the Liga Endesa title and the Spanish Super Cup.
Individually, Montero enjoyed a historic season, earning a spot on the All-EuroLeague First Team, while also being named the EuroLeague Playoffs MVP and EuroLeague Rising Star.

Olympiacos build explosive new backcourt
When it comes to Olympiacos, Montero becomes the second major backcourt addition this offseason after the club officially signed Codi Miller-McIntyre to a three-year contract. The former Crvena Zvezda guard arrives after leading the EuroLeague in assists last season. Together, Montero and Miller-McIntyre are expected to form one of the most exciting backcourt duos in European basketball, and there is no doubt that Olympiacos will once again enter the new season as one of the main contenders for the EuroLeague title.
