Maccabi Tel Aviv, following their win over Partizan, also defeated Crvena Zvezda, completing a perfect week in the EuroLeague doubleweek.
Crvena Zvezda were without Isaiah Canaan, Tyson Carter, Ognjen Dobric, Uros Plavisic, and Jasiel Rivero, while Maccabi missed Lonnie Walker and T.J. Leaf.
Claim Now Maccabi dominated the first half, going into halftime with a +9 lead. However, Jordan Nwora was the key player in the third quarter, sparking a comeback for Zvezda. During a 12-2 run at the start of the quarter, Nwora scored 7 points to shift momentum.
The lead swapped several times until six minutes remained, when Crvena Zvezda led by 4 points. Maccabi then went on an 8-0 run to take control and eventually secured the win in a tightly contested finish.
Jimmy Clark led Maccabi with 22 points, while Jordan Nwora matched that for Zvezda, adding 6 assists.
In second game, Olimpia Milano squandered a +14 lead against Asvel but still managed to edge out the French side in a nail-biting EuroLeague Round 27 matchup.
ASVEL was fully available for this game, while Milano was missing Leandro Bolmaro, Lorenzo Brown, Ousmane Diop, Josh Nebo, Nate Sestina, and Stefano Tonut.
Asvel started stronger, taking a +2 lead in the first quarter. Milano, led by Marko Guduric, turned it around to hold a +5 advantage at halftime.
Milano continued strongly in the third quarter, extending their lead to +14, seemingly on the way to a comfortable victory. By mid-fourth quarter, Milano still led by 12 points. However, Brian Angola sparked a comeback for Asvel, scoring 12 points in the final quarter to bring the game back to even. Asvel missed crucial shots down the stretch, allowing Milano to narrowly win 77-76.
Marko Guduric finished with 18 points and 7 assists for Milano, while Brian Angola led Asvel with 23 points and 5 rebounds.
