Asvel have announced the signing of 32-year-old center Joel Bolomboy to a two-year contract, after spending the last three seasons with Crvena Zvezda.
Asvel weathered a difficult stretch in recent days following the departures of Sylvain Francisco, Nick Weiler-Babb, and Armoni Brooks, but they have now begun officially announcing new signings.
Bolomboy is the second arrival in this new wave, following Patty Mills‘ signing with the French side.

Experienced career
The American center began his career in the NBA and G League before building a name for himself in European basketball, most notably playing for CSKA, Olympiacos, and Crvena Zvezda.
With CSKA, he won the EuroLeague title in 2019, as well as two VTB League championships. He completed the Greek League and Greek Cup double with Olympiacos in 2023 before moving to Crvena Zvezda.
In Belgrade, he won the Serbian Championship in 2024 and three consecutive Serbian Cups from 2024 to 2026.
Trouble with injuries
He arrives at Asvel following a turbulent 2025/26 campaign that was disrupted by injuries, limiting him to just a handful of appearances in the EuroLeague.
He averaged 5.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 14 minutes per game in the EuroLeague last season. His final appearance came against Panathinaikos, where he recorded 12 points and five rebounds in 20 minutes.
